We're only weeks away from the new season of Aussie ITFs. A slightly shorter end-of-year circuit this year. And no NT events :bigcry:

Here's the schedule:

$25,000 Cairns (Aug 27-Sep 2)
$25,000 Rockhampton (Sep 3-9)
$10,000 Salisbury (Sep 10-16)
$25,000 Port Pirie (Sep 17-23)
$25,000 Esperance (Oct 1-7)
$25,000 Margaret River (Oct 8-14)
$25,000 Traralgon (Oct 22-28)
$25,000 Bendigo (Oct 29-Nov 4)

The early entry list for Cairns is up: http://www.itftennis.com/procircuit/tournaments/women's-tournament/info.aspx?tournamentid=1100027432

No major surprises, apart from Tammi Patterson looking like she's going to give it another crack. No Jess Moore, Dani J or Ash Barty

Anyone here going to be attending any of these?

Jess had close one today, still likely to go through. I think you summed up well. Especially compared to players around WTA 100-200 mark that play quals WTA events looking to get into MD, and who have more pace having to play higher risk games and make balls not just grind. For Rachel, have not seen her game for a while. Saw few times in 2011 Circuit (vs Peers, South, Sema etc) and looked like baseline hitter. If had to pick a style- eastern european flat, with side spin. Power thou lacking consistency, sometimes shot selection is "wow" no touch winner, other times "WTF" was that for as wasted point after nice setup? Saw hitting with Barty few times in 2012, going toe to toe with a bit of a crowd gathering, awesome. (did not realise was Rachel till afterwards when niece pointed out). I think I saw her in Barty's box at AO?, and on Barty's web site so hopefully something rubs off there. Not sure what has happened since 2011 debut, a short glimmer at Rocky (QF) and Port Pirie (vs Moore) last year. Looks like no coach, no real tactical program, and doing same old thing sans improvement like the others around same rank level. But has different physique (tall, athletic). And "melange" (mixed, like me!). Has French name but speaks English and Japanese?, I thought Polynesian at first? Others might know more.

Abbie Myers is the only Aussie of note that's pulled out of Ipswich. The rest are pretty much all there, which is noice. But only 4 in the MD direct thus far. A few could squeeze in if lower priorities drop out.

Peers coming back to Oz for these.
