PYW Doubles Indian Wells
Welcome to Indian Wells, USA! It is time for the beginning of the American spring swing, which fills the month of March with two prestigious Premier Mandatory tournaments in the Southern United States. This event boasts a stacked line-up, starting with top-seeded Italians Sara Errani and Roberta Vinci, and all the way down to the very interesting wildcard tandems we will be seeing in action this week. The second seeds are Czechs Andrea Hlaváčková and Lucie Hradecká, who have played together for a long time like the top seeds and seen a very fair share of success. However, these two established teams are followed by a slew of strict competition from the other seeds, who are mostly newly-formed teams this year between some very dangerous doubles players, such as Russian Nadia Petrova and Slovenian Katarina Srebotnik, the third seeds and American Liezel Huber with Spaniard María José Martínez Sánchez, who are the fifth seeds. Interesting unseeded teams include the combinations of Zimbabwean Cara Black with Australian Anastasia Rodionova and American Lisa Raymond with Australian Samantha Stosur, both of whom have rejoined forces in 2013. With such a deep and exciting draw, Indian Wells will be a tournament not to miss. Vote now was the BNP Paribas Open begins!
