Arrow Bovina's Herd: Elbo hits the Challenger Circuit

Elena showed such bright promise this spring after turning 18. She had that great run to the Quarterfinals at Indian Wells, was a Finalist at Estoril, and reached the Quarters at s-hertogenbosch. Since these three tournaments are played on three different surfaces, I was pretty impressed and I expected Elena to keep rising, maybe to the top 25 or so by year's end.

So what happened? "Elena Part III" as I call her, has barely won a main-draw match since then.

Is it a reaction to increased attention or pressure? Have the other players figured out her game now? Doe she have that common Russian problem with choking?
Has she been injured?
WHAT IS IT???

Whatever the cause, I am concerned with this downward road because each successive loss must be more and more damaging to Elena's confidence. And she seems like such a great kid. I hope she can turn things around soon.
