Re: Danish tennis

Grage won the final today 64 26 64. Still pretty good by Julie, probably the closest she's ever been against Mai!

I always thought Mai Grage could be a top 200 player. Her junior career was good (her junior results are by far the best of any Danish junior since Wozniacki). She also has some good Fed Cup results although she's almost been playing as a recreational player. She defeated top 300 player Stephanie Vogt, for instance! She also beat Mona Barthel once in a club match in Denmark. So she definetely has potential.

She's very talented and very solid. But just after her last junior year, in February 2011, she surprisingly announced that she wouldn't pursue a career as a pro. She didn't like the travelling and the life on tour. She also wanted to study. Too bad. She's still the best Danish player behind Caro and Barbat, and would probably be better than Barbat if she went "all in" for tennis.
