You guys are all lucky compared to me! I have been studying 17 A4 pages of accounting from 8PM on Monday, to 11:30AM on Tuesday, that was 15 and a half hours in a row. Then I went straight to school to take the final exam Came home at 5PM, watched Ana, watched Nole, and now waiting to watch Maria My eyes are so hurt right now :crying2: I'm so tired, sleepy, exhausted, ugh, everything :crying2:
Lisicki will give Masha a run for her money . Lisicki is this type of opponents, playing against whom you shouldn't lose concentration and make gifts , because unlike against 90% of players , it's hard to break back Lisicki, because of her serve .
Well, it's a great thing they're playing on claycourts then. Maria will have a better look on her first and second serve. Lisicki's second serve on clay and slow HC is quite weak.
Really great match from Masha, the first set was on fire. Happy for Grigor as well.
Take rest tomorrow and demolish Lisicki.
P.S. it is almost 5 00 am in my time zone....only Masha can make me do that.
Last time i saw McHale's match was Rome last year, She played good, had decent game but now It sucks, don't know why many young player those day can keep their game up.
And about this match, Maria played quite well, better than yesterday, more errors in the end but it acceptable
Maria is going to batter Lisicki into oblivion. I don't think Maria has gotten over that Wimbledon loss and that match is probably the reason why Maria has been vocal about Wimbledon being a priority this year. She was embarrassed losing to someone like her. And I still can't get over how angry Maria looked throughout that meeting at the Olympics.
Please let's not get ahead of ourselves - Personally I don't think Masha holds grudges against other players except maybe a little vs Victoria Azarenka for some reason and that's not because she has lost a couple of matches against Vika in their H2H - It must be something else - Masha always shrugs off bad points as well as lost matches immediately and moves on - Lisicki is a nice young lady and a great tennis player who deserves respect from us Masha fans - She had some severe injuries and has never gotten the chance to reach her potential level as of yet - She may well win Wimbledon one day - she is that good on grass
As for Masha looking angry @ the Olympics - Masha looked unusual irritated and emotional during the whole event - I've never seen her lose her cool before like she did at the Olympics and slam her racket to the ground - neither have I ever seen her smile for herself like she did during the Lisicki match after she hit that unusual left handed volley shot
It's hard for me to have a lot of respect for players as inconsistent as Lisicki, injuries or not. I've been reading about her potential for years, but all I see is someone who shows up to play well for a tourament or two and then disappear for months on end. And injuries haven't been the only reason for that. She's underachieved. She's kind of a more talented version of Pironkova to me. A dangerous player who can strike out of nowhere, but not someone you can count on for very long. These days, we are seeing more and more WTA ladies who reach their potential and get their breakthrough later in their careers. Sabine could be one of those, but something tells me we've already seen the best of her and this is who she is.
But there's no question Sabine is capable of rising up and going GOAT against Maria, especially on this weird surface in this weird tournament. She may end up doing a Maria a favor if she comes up with the big upset, but I don't see it happening.
