There's not much prize money to pick up if you always lose in the first or second round. But she would still be among the leaders of the chasing pack up there with Radwanska and Li Na. But as it is her level has dropped so much that every top 100 player has a chance of beating her, and every top 30 player goes into a match with her as the favorite. She's lucky that she's still in the top 10 because if she had a low-ish ranking now there's no way she could work herself back up to the top 20 with how she's playing now. The sad thing is that she doesn't even seem to care. Maybe she does care, but where's the fight? The positive "over my dead body" language? All gone...
Maybe she's a girl who's just really in love these days and would rather spend time being with Rory and thinking about him.
Right now, she's doesn't look like a player with a deep commitment to improve her game and make the necessary sacrifices to be elite on this level. All that can change, though. She just needs to start making some hard decisions about what she wants out of the game of tennis.
