Re: Miami 2013: Hometown Glory?

Maria's most memorable matches in Miami:

2005 QF vs Henin. Maria was leading 6-1 5-2, but Henin managed to come back in fashion and win the 2nd set. Maria closed the match out with som ephenomenal winners and won 6-1 6-7 6-2. Her first win over Henin and their first meeting

2005 SF vs Venus. It was a straights set win, 6-4 6-3 looks routine, but it was such an amazing match full of spectacular winners from both and amazing quality and drama. The ending was

2006 SF vs Golovin. Insane drama. Maria had so many match points in the 2nd set, but Golovin went into God mode. Maria was leading in the 3rd set when Golovin rolled her ankle and retired. Still, it was a memorable match

2011 QF vs Dulgheru. Her longest match ever (I think) lasting 3 hours and 29 minutes :scary: Such incredible drama, the quality wasn't high, but it's one of the toughest matches of her career. Clutchpova
