Re: Biographies of Female Tennis Players

VON ENDE-PFLÜGNER, MARIA "Marga" (Baroness Maria Von Ende-Pfluger)
Germany
Active 1930s

Winner: 1931- Hannover; 1932- Free City of Gdansk Champs.

Finalist: 1932- Bad Pyrmont; 1933- Heiligendamm

German junior champion in 1931. An article from 1931 lists her as "Marga".

3R of Wimbledon in 1933.

Ranked #7-11 in Germany in 1934. She is listed as Fraulein M von Ende-Pfugner in Lowe's Annual. This double-barrelled surname is quite confusing, and has sometimes led to assumptions that she was married.

An article from 1931 calls her “Freiin”, this term "Freiin" means: "unmarried daughter of a baron" So she is called "Baroness von Ende-Pflugner".
