There's a French film which came out last year that has a similar subplot within that sets the scene.In Mexico,titles are often changed to make the films more marketable and,down here,the film was titled,'Amigos'(Friends).

There's a Frenchman with Senegalese roots who's purposely looking for rejections at job interviews--with confirming signatures from the 'rejectors'--so that he can continue collecting unemployment benefits.The twist is that a wealthy quadriplegic widower actually hires him,and they go on to build a deep bond with each other...it's a dramatic comedy,as you might guess
