French final-easy, dull routine win for Maria over Errani. Aussie final-embarrassing dud by Maria against Vika. Even going back to the 2011 US Open final, though it was a straight setter, it was highly entertaining just witnessing the shocking greatness of Stosur over Serena. And seeing Serena's emotional meltdown. And, finally, the one-sided disappointing Kvitova/Maria Wimbledon final.

So, overall, Maria hasn't delivered anything very compelling in her finals recently. Though, I did enjoy every minute of her French win for obvious reasons. It's certainly a lot better to be on the winning end of a dull match.

One other tid-bit, it's been 2 years now since the last time neither Maria, Serena, or Vika made the final 4 of a major. 2011 Aussie Open semis had Li/Woz and Vera/Kim.
Rome/Stuttgart weren't entertaining?
