Artie benefited from a lot of favorable first round 25k draws. Trouble was, she wasn't good enough to step it up in the second round when her opponents, did. Not to mention the almost regular supply of bagels, and mostly double she received.
In saying that though, she was almost always good enough to beat a lower or similar ranked player. And managed to shake off that embarrassing run of double bagles.
She was good in Tashkent, and Dubai. And she's started well her, losing 4 games in advancing to the second round.
Frolova in the quarters presents a problem.
