so I tried some bicarb on it - made a paste and scrubbed for a while - the stainless steel definitely looks better, and when the spotlights on the cooker you can't even notice but its just when the lights are off you can see all faded bubbles on the surface
its kinda like this but not nearly as bad and no burnt/black bits
and it's only on one fireburner out of 4 (trust me it's the biggest one) but im sure she'll understand. i didn't even know the pan had overspilled until i'd cleaned up
