The USTA needs to workout something here, not just for Taylor, but in general. Perhaps they could create a stipend system where player accounts are step up, and funds are transferred into those player accounts based on results. So, the better a player is, the deeper they make it into tournaments, the more resources would be in their account. The players couldn't use the account like a personal bank, but could draw against it for travel expenses, entrance fees, and the like; receipts required. There needs to be a system where talented, but not well-off kids, have a decent shot at developing their skills.
