Re: (Two of my) favourite ballads of all time

Not nearly all songs I or anyone else likes are ballads, BTW. A true ballad must "tell a story". (Some of those great Dylan songs are more like random lyrics, where they're virtually whole other tunes after the chorus; thus not really ballads). Joni Mitchell wrote the song on the right below, turned into a hit by the muse of the Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young track "Suite Judy Blue Eyes".

My current avatar is the new (elected March 30th) Mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo (the first woman to hold the job, FWIW). She was one of the few French Socialists who actually won, on a day the country swung hard to the right.
