They have earned a spot in the draw in the first place by winning enough throughout the year to be ranked in or around the top 100 of what they do. That's quite impressive in itself. And slams are one of the few tournamentswith the cash to reward these people for their lifetime of hard work. The champion already becomes a millionaire in two weeks, how much more of disparity do we want?
Tennis is trying to become a more progressive sport, not even more fiscally elitist.
