Eleni played 2 10Ks in the US over the last 2 weeks. In the first one, she won three matches in qualifying with ease, all in straight sets. In the first round of the main draw, she won 6-2 6-3. In the second round, she lost a tight match 7-5 2-6 4-6 against top-seeded Sachie Ishizu of Japan (WTA #454). In the second tournament, Eleni lost in the final round of qualifying to Diane Hollands of New Zealand (WTA #1002) 4-6 7-6 1-6. She also played doubles but lost 4-6 3-6 in the first round. Still, a great two weeks from Eleni on the pro circuit
Angeliki played 2 Finnish 10Ks. In the first one she qualified easily and then beat WTA #906 Johanna Hyoty of Finland 6-4 6-3. In the second round she lost to 4th seeded and eventual champion Sandra Roma of Sweden (WTA #550) 1-6 3-6 and she also lost in the first round of doubles
. She then played another Finnish 10K and qualified easily before losing 3-6 1-6 in the first round to 5th seeded Julia Valetova of Russia (WTA #663)
. The good thing is that she has regained her WTA ranking of #1177
