Russia pays its medallists a lot. US is pretty average- they do similar as NZ and we're poor. That said, when you have that many medallists its a lot to spread around. Singapore pays out a million for a gold but have never won one beofre, they got a bronze which got a quarter mil. Philippines does something like $300000
