It´s tradition that January and August are "empty" months on ITF circuit. Last year there was even a week in August, where no above 10k tournaments were held (only such week during the year). There was supposed to be one more 50k in Spain (during the week of USO qualies), but as most of the other Spanish tournaments it was canceled. Most of the top 250 will be busy playing in America anyway.

Hardly surprising, considering that there will be Pironkova´s season ending championship later in the year
