Another family to feature three tennis-playing sisters was the Cressy family from Manchester in England. The three sisters were Ida, Ellen and Lilian.

Ida, the eldest, was probably the best player of the three. She was runner-up to Lottie Paterson at the Scottish Championships in 1895 and 1896.

In 1897, Ellen lost to Charlotte Cooper in the All-Comers' Final at the Northern Championships tournament in Ellen's native Manchester.
