Ipek Soylu

Ipek was born on 15th April 1996 in Istanbul, Turkey. So she's 15 years old. She's coached by Gavin Hopper (who also coaches Jarmila Gajdosova) and Daniela Cocos. She's sponsored by the International Istanbul Tennis Academy.

Ipek's currently ranked #1209 on the WTA tour. Throughout 2011 she played in a lot of $10,000 and $25,000 events in Turkey. She received a maindraw wildcard for $50,000 Ankara just a few weeks ago and took five games from Yuliya Beygelzimer who's ranked inside the Top 200.

On the ITF Junior circuit Ipek's currently ranked #102 with a career high of #89. In 2011 she won the G3 event, Aphrodite Cup, in Cyprus, and reached the semifinals and quarterfinals of two G2 events in Egypt and Korea. She recently reached the third round of GA Abierto Juvenil Mexicano in Mexico City. She lost to eventual finalist Varvara Flink.

She's the top ranked Turkish player on the ITF Junior circuit and she's the 10th ranked Turkish player on the WTA tour.

Ipek is currently preparing for the Australian Open juniors. She's playing the G1 event, Loy Yang Traralgon International which starts in a few days, before heading over to Melbourne.

I think Ipek has a very promising career ahead of her.
