The tennis facilities were less than ideal. The Beerschot courts were near the main stadium, so thunderous applause often occured while points were in progress. Dressing rooms were cramped. Nothing stopped Lenglen as she marched towards the gold. The most games she lost in a match (3) came in the final. The sensation of the week was the doubles semi, where Kitty McKane and Mcnair upset Suzanne and her partner. Kitty had scatched in the singles to rest for her doubles match.
