This was the inaugural tournament at this newly-opened indoor tennis club. The tournament was known as the “Coupe de Noël” because of the time of year at which it took place.

Suzanne won the right to play in this fixture due to taking the singles handicap at Nice. When Suzanne came to the dressing room with her mother the club secretary instructed Mrs Lenglen on where to change. Imagine their surprise when the young teen took the court!
