The NYT calls Nora (nee Meyer) Schmitz (listed as Mrs Frederick Schmitz) "a young matron", going on to state "in all aspects the match was a most memorable one and a brilliant final for the opening tournament of the year".
*This was a handicap event, with Schmitz owning 30. Umpires were Louise Hammond and Bessie Moore.

In 1910, Jeanne Matthey retained the singles title at the Closed French Championships which from this year onwards were played on the clay courts of the Racing Club de France in the Bois de Boulogne in Paris.
