Question Random Match-Ups II: Anastasia Myskina vs. Agnieszka Radwanska

So the last Random Match-Up (Kerber vs. Mauresmo) produced some interesting results: Mauresmo had more votes overall (25-19) but the most popular option was Kerber winning 3-2 (14 votes) ;)

For...

Random Match-Ups: Angelique Kerber vs. Amelie Mauresmo

The forum is a bit quiet lately :o Anyway I thought it would be fun to compare some notable players of this century and how they'd match up against each other. Especially those who never got the...

Re: Venus and Serena will open "Yetunde Price Resource Center" in Compton

Such a nice way for them to keep the memory of their sister alive. I really can't imagine what it must have been like to lose a sibling in such a tragic way.

Good on the sisters :worship:

Re: Cibulkova: Champions are not pushers

Quite the assertion there from Cibulkova...

I mean she was playing great against Kerber in the round robin match too but she still lost. You have to hand it to her, she played amazingly in the...

Re: Live Commentary Thread vol 104

The doom and gloom from Aga fans  Come on now it's Muguruza trying to serve out a set, she practically always gives you a head start with a DF to go 0-15

Re: Singapore = slo mo?

I agree that it might not necessarily be the court. She just looked really out of her element today, but maybe that's just because she was playing her nemesis Halep

Re: Singapore = slo mo?

It seems about the same as previous years to me

Kerber and Cibulkova hit nearly 80 winners combined (with fewer errors), so it doesn't seem like the court is holding players back from...

Re: Angelique Kerber to end 2016 season as world number one!

Congrats to her and well-deserved :) A nice story about someone who managed to turn a good career into a great one through hard work and determination.

I don't think she'll be a super dominant...

Re: With Serena out, Zhuhai ironically has a better field than Singapore

AKA wherever Venus is playing is the "better field" A fun but misleading stat for sure.

Re: Linzgate 2016: Pliskova is replaced by Muguruza. Keys and Cibulkova get wild card

It's silly that Muguruza isn't already automatically qualified for YEC, she won a slam  They should have the same rule as the ATP.

Re: WADA website hack

The medications Venus is taking are immuno-suppressants and a bronchodilator, obviously to treat her Sjogren's (autoimmune disease).

Serena's are painkillers and immuno-suppressants as well, most...

Re: The 20 Greatest *Active Singles* Players on the WTA Tour

This list is great as always, but IMO no way Puig should be above several more accomplished players just because of OG

Re: Who is greater now? Ana Ivanovic or Angelique Kerber?

I'm a long time fan of Ana and I have to admit Kerber is definitely a greater player now  She has showed a mental resilience and consistency that Ana never managed in her career

As for...

You know the loser's going to get shit on but damn, both these ladies deserve credit for putting on a great final :worship: no matter what happens from here

Re: Bouchard Suing USTA

Why is all this handshake drama being discussed instead of the actual issue?

This is about a player who was put in an unsafe situation due to the unfortunate negligence of the USTA....

Re: Live Commentary Thread vol 102

Obviously excessive insults shouldn't be allowed, but criticism of an athlete's fitness should definitely be fair game.

For me Townsend's weight is shocking for a pro athlete in a physically...

Re: Live Commentary Thread vol 102

Interesting that making a joke about a player being overweight isn't tolerated but we can have whole threads on here dedicated to players being too skinny

If someone thinks a player is...

Re: Im sorry but that handshake was disgusting

I don't think it was that bad  She looked her in the eye and shook hands, nothing special. Obviously Kerber was disappointed and it showed, but I don't think it's fair to expect every player...

Re: Rio court speed?

The surface is terrible because Venus lost? It's not that slow, Venus just had a lot of trouble hitting through Flipkens' slice shots. If it's so slow then how did Flipkens hit more winners than...

Re: Kiki Mladenovic claims she lost in doubles because of the color of their outfits?

Did she or Garcia even make one mention of their opponents? No matter what happens you have to give your opponents credit

I mean it's an unfortunate circumstance to be in, but they...

Re: Rio 2016 R1: (SUI) Hingis/Bacsinszky def. (AUS) Gavrilova/Stosur 6-4 4-6 6-2

Good win but I don't really see team Switzerland winning gold here.

Neither Hingis nor Bacsinszky has a great forehand so they can be exploited on the deuce side a lot. They can totally win a...

Re: Olympics Rio R1: Flipkens def. Venus Williams 46 63 76(5)

A dramatic mess of a match  Credit to Flipkens for playing well and driving Venus crazy with her variety. You could see how much the win meant to her at the end.

Venus never looked...
