Re: RG 2eme Rnd.: [9] Mlle. V. Williams bat. Mlle. L. Chirico 6/2, 6/1

Chirico follows so many of the young US girls like McHale, Davis and Min - dreary baseliners who have zero weapons, don't do anything well other than keeping the ball in and get crushed every time...

Re: RG R2: (26) Mladenovic d. Babos 6-4 6-3

Mladenovic displayed some good tennis, but Babos was dreadful. She either made wild errors or just fed FH's for Mladenovic to attack - a very flat performance considering their respective form.

Re: Naomi Brady / Camila Giorgi - a contrast in contradictions

Broady's problem is not lack of power - it's like others have said, poor technique combined with movement of an elderly elephant.

Had she played 15-20 years where more tournaments played on fast...

Re: How bad does this look for the WTA?

Of course it looks bad - hell, this final match up would have been inconvincible even during the Wozniacki/Zvonareva era of 2010-11, which says it all.

It has been coming though, it should have...

Re: Serena's Post SF Match Press Conference

She comes across as graceless and arrogant, but who wouldn't after throwing away what would have been the biggest accomplishment of her career.

Re: Jennifer Elie wins the U.S. National Playoffs! Receives last USO Q WC!

Some story for a player who has never reached the Top 250, has never won a title above 10K, has played only one WTA main draw match in her career and never beaten a Top 100 player. I guess this will...

Re: Courtney Nguyen to stop writing for SI, start working full time at the WTA

Considering one of his most recent articles about Serena Williams and female body image resulted in him being called a racist and misogynist, I'm sure he's delighted at the amount of hits he's...

Re: Courtney Nguyen to stop writing for SI, start working full time at the WTA

Traditional journalism is also on its way out, which is why the vast majority of journalists go into PR. It's excellent money (at the top of it), and most journalists find it a fairly easy role, as...

Re: Wimbledon Final (1) Serena Williams def (20) Garbine Muguruza 6-4 6-4

Why are Serena fans bothered about the crowd's reception to her?

#1 Serena just isn't particularly likable with her manner.
#2 Serena cares about winning, not people's perception of her.

Question Is Venus jealous of Serena?

She looked less than happy when Serena won. Infact, she only smiled when she was choking/Muguruza was fighting back. :tape:

Re: ESPN's Jason Whitlock: Serena vs. Venus match a "family fix" for the sake of CYGS

Glad someone was brave enough to say it. Of course it was fixed - Serena is on the cusp of history - what kind of sister would Venus have been if she stood in her way?

Seven years later and...

Re: Impressive Quarterfinal Lineup

A Serena/Azarenka vs Sharpova and a Muguruza vs Keys SF line up would be excellent - the old vs the new.

However, as the WTA is a complete mess, I'm expecting the final to be Vandeweghe vs...
