Re: Pliskova saves Serena's #1 and win biggest title 6-3 6-1 with [2] Kerber

Thank you Pliskova! She really did play well though!

Re: Which match has featured PEAK Serena drama?

For me it has got to be the doubles match at Wimbledon last year. I've never seen anything so bizarre on a tennis court. She should have never gone out there.

Re: Vladimira Uhlirova is the best commentator at the moment

I like her. She is interesting and actually pays attention to what is happening in the match. "What a missile!" "Imagine that forehand in reality!" "That is just unreal (laughs to self)"...

Re: Venus most memorable match?

Defeating Davenport in the 2005 Wimbledon Final. What a match!

Re: Schett: Single handed backhand more beautiful but not effective

Perhaps the next crop of women will be like the top men and have both (Nadal, Djok, Murray). They have the two-handed top and one-handed slice.

Re: WWW: Hingis vs Errani right now?

Haha. I can't even watch her match with Wozniacki right now. It's awful. AW-FUL!

Re: U.S. Open R4: (13) Errani hits just 4 winners, def. (Q) Lucic-Baroni 6-3 2-6 6-0

Are you kidding? Lucic missed so many of those easy serves. It was error after error after error. If Lucic wants to get back into the Top 50 she needs to take a little bit off her groundies at...

Re: At 100% who has the most beautiful game to watch?

Ball striking from Seles and all-court game from Hingis.

Serena's determination and athleticism in 2002-2003 was awesome to watch.

Re: John Mcenroe: "Maria Sharapova is an overachiever"

That is the whole point of my post. The mental part of the game is just as important. Sharapova is leaps and bounds better than most girls on tour in that department.

Re: John Mcenroe: "Maria Sharapova is an overachiever"

Yes, it was Patrick. I tend to agree with him. She is a great fighter and one of the best mentally, but not a natural mover or natural all-court player. Think of all the slams Davenport could have...

Re: Evert and Navratilova on their '84 USO and the state of today's game (NYT article

I guess I didn't realize it had been in place for that long. It seemed like Kournikova, Hingis, Williams x2, Clijsters, etc. and then Sharapova, Vaidisova, Ivanovic, and crew were playing more...

Re: Evert and Navratilova on their '84 USO and the state of today's game (NYT article

Nice interview. The new age rule has changed the development of players. I think we will see more and more players win their first slam titles at 22 or 23.

What Chrissie said about Graf having...

Re: Petra/Vika: Whose career is better so far

Azarenka has had a better career, but I would rather have 2 Wimbledon trophies than 2 Aussies.

Re: Whose technique would you recommend to a beginner?

Yes, simple, compact, clean technique. Eastern forehand grip and conventional two-handed backhand technique for beginners.

Re: Montréal 3rd Round: Venus Williams def. (6) Angelique Kerber 6-3, 3-6, 6-4

I completely agree. That was some great stuff at the end of this match. Really great rallies and fight from both players. Venus played a really smart match. She set up the points with some great...

Re: Stanford F: Serena Def Kerber 7-6, 6-3

Exactly! Once Serena decided to hit the court she won. She needs to keep this momentum going now.

Re: Serena Williams vrs Stefan Kozlov?

I hope your kidding. Using that logic why isn't Brittney Griner in the NBA. It is the same game. :help:

Serena would not come close to winning an NCAA D1 singles championship.

Re: Serena Williams vrs Stefan Kozlov?

Exactly. Serena is one of my favorite players of all-time but she wouldn't have a chance. Women's tennis is fun to watch because they still have great rallies and high drama, similar to women's...
