Re: BOMBSHELL: Venus pulls out of the US Open; Diagnosed With Sjogren Syndrome

When you have an autoimmune disease, you be honest about it from the moment you know it. She didn't play last year or hardly this year after Wimbledon. I knews something was wrong when I could...

Re: BOMBSHELL: Venus pulls out of the US Open; Diagnosed With Sjogren Syndrome

Venus will be fine but it will cause long term misery for the rest of her life. You put stress into it, it will be worse. I hope she retires unless she plays carefree which goes against her...

Re: BOMBSHELL: Venus pulls out of the US Open; Diagnosed With Sjogren Syndrome

You don't get to be a pro without the love but the competitive nature and expectations that come with it, can deteriorate it.

Re: BOMBSHELL: Venus pulls out of the US Open; Diagnosed With Sjogren Syndrome

She loved the game but she did not enjoy being a champion. Venus in the late 90's and early 2000 loved the game. You saw that with her shots and her eagerness that she displayed paricularly her run...

Re: BOMBSHELL: Venus pulls out of the US Open; Diagnosed With Sjogren Syndrome

I know she has said that many times but I don't believe her. Though, I have given her the benefit of the doubt for many years. I think outside priorities helps her deal with stress. She loves match...

Re: BOMBSHELL: Venus pulls out of the US Open; Diagnosed With Sjogren Syndrome

I have had autoimmune disease myself. I'm lucky that I'm Asian-Indian descendent because I would have been dead. Because it was in India, I went to a homeopathy doctor (that my cousin recommended me...

Re: BOMBSHELL: Venus pulls out of the US Open

The Jan Brady syndrome has caught up to her in terms of tennis talent. They won't admit this. Its always Serena, Serena, Serena. It has affected her health.

Re: Queen Bethanie-Mattek Sands to win AUSTRALIAN OPEN 2011

Bethanie can manufacture points and rhythm to get to quarters but she can't win points off one shot like the Williams sisters can. When you get to the Quarters, you have that shot.

Now hacking...

Venus Williams with John Chaney's style

I think Venus needs to play her hack game because its her instinctive initiative and puts her opponents to sleep sort of like John Chaney's zone defense in college basketball even when she makes...

Re: Did Davenport maximise her potential game-wise?

She was mentally tough but she didn't have the faith to deal with the unknown. Venus Williams isn't the toughest mentally like her sister but she has that "Rose Kennedy" faith that things will get...

Re: Virginia Ruano Pascual :"Williams Sisters do some damage in women's tennis"

Lets face facts, sweetie! The only reason you and Paola won those GLAMs in doubles was because of the modeling and outside priorities of the Williams sisters. They didn't play doubles for five years....

Re: Larry Brown coach team tennis

That is the idea. They both think alike. Likewise, I think his run&jump defense can work in doubles and mixed of team tennis. Since tennis has become a return oriented game, that tactic can work in...

Re: Losses that destroyed players' careers?

I think for most top players, it is usually a tournament like Justine losing Wimbledon to Amelie that they can't recover. Venus with Australian and French losses to Serena.

Re: Losses that destroyed players' careers?

Laura Golarsa loss to Chris Evert at Wimbledon comes to mind. Manuela Maleeva's loss to Monica at the French where she played flawless. Just a few.

Hey, Venus. If you want us to see your dress, get to the net!

That title says it all. Miss wardrobe. What is the point of wearing that dress, if you are going to stay in the baseline? You might as well wear a straight jacket. The shadows of the stadium hit the...

Re: Service coordinator and return coordinator?

Yes, I'm talking about coaching responsibilities. I think you are right when it comes to singles players. Maybe for them, you need surface coordinators. One who could teach them how to play on clay,...

Service coordinator and return coordinator?

I'm suprised in coaching like Fed Cup, team tennis, academy tennis, and player/coach, there aren't coordinators for the return or the service. What do you think?

Re: USO RD2: Venus Williams def. Queen Bethanie 6-4, 6-2

She positioned better on the court and put pressure on Bethanie to put too much on her serve. She stalked her prey and then killed. Kill Venus, Kill Venus. Kill!

Re: Venus Williams (The Dave Kingman of tennis)

I do like how she goes after a player's strength first then go after a players's weakness when oppurtuntiy comes. That is a Chris Evert's technique. Just zone in to one area.

Re: Jamea Jackson has officially retired

I'm remember her doing well in the Australian warmups before the injury. I thought she had a good shot.

Re: Venus Williams (The Dave Kingman of tennis)

On Grass courts, she plays a smooth power game. Her movement and confidence is phenomenal as well as her consistency and her thinking. On hard courts since 2004, her game has become all reactionary...
