Re: Nottingham QR2 Ashleigh '3.0' Barty def Paula Cristina Goncalves 6-4 6-3

I think they weren't able to find enough players so anyone who wanted in got into qualies. The Last Direct Acceptance part of the drawsheet says

Re: WWW.Roland Garros SF: Serena Williams v. Kiki Bertens

Bertens was extremely slow and wasn't even able to run for horrendously high drop shots that landed near the service line towards the end of the 2nd set. I don't see her magically recovering...

Re: Larsson fails to choke to Zanevska, 6-2, 2-6, 7-6

Wasn't just one break up in the 3rd. She turned a marvelous 3-0 double break (and a break point at 3-1 to get the double break back) into a 3-4 deficit in the blink of an eye like only she can...

Re: Live Commentary Thread vol 97

Re: Chris Evert crosses line; Blames European culture for Djokovic's comments

Well, Jelena has publically blamed at least one of her losses (2009 Oudin at Wimbledon) on "women's problems" as she put it at the time. So she'll probably be shrugging her shoulders at any and all...

Re: Tv deal in mess

What deal is he talking about? The big new deal negotiated by Stacey is with UK based Perform Group and not a qatari network (Bein sports?), isn't it?

If he is talking about the perform deal,...

Re: Lisicki single again.

Sasha is the common nickname for Alexander in Russia, similarly to a Maria being a Masha or a Daria being called Dasha. Mischa is also just a nickname for the older Zverev btw. His real name is...

Re: This is MELDONIUM "enhances stamina and brain function"

If players want a little boost during a bathroom break, the preferred weapon of choice would be their nicely TUE'd asthma spray.

Re: Monterrey Centre court stream?

Has anyone actually watched any non-night matches on the Monterrey website, or got confirmation about it from a mexican? Or is it just an assumption that they show all centre court matches? When I...

Re: Dubai TD blasts WTA players for their "lack of commitment".

Once upon a time Federer was nothing more than an ill-mannered nobody to the average public either.

The doom saying that either tour will be in trouble once Serena, Sharapova, Federer, Djokovic...

Re: St.P. R2: (1)Bencic def. Beck 7-6(3), 6-3

just from watching, it sure does look a lot slower than Fed Cup in Leipzig did (which was near the upper end of the ITF speed scale)

Re: Tennis Umpires Secretly Banned Over Gambling Scam

And hey, these umpires, more or less, only did on select matches...

Re: Angelique Kerber: ''my heart is in Poland, here is my home and family''

Bavaria was part of Germany last time I checked. I'm just having a tough time defining "Ze German culture". What is German culture even? Bratwurst? No, that's Thuringia and Franken really.

Re: Angelique Kerber: ''my heart is in Poland, here is my home and family''

I demand every woman migrating to Germany to embrace German culture, to wear Dirndls all day long, every day, and put her hair in braids.
