Re: PUSHERS don´t WIN slams!!!!

Stephens takes the Mayweather approach to these matches at the US Open. She's learned that her opponents eventually self destruct if all she does is defense.

Re: US Open Girls' final: another All-American affair

Met Coco, she's very lovely and a sweetheart. The other girls have a lot of great things to say about her as well.

Re: Tornado Black, Tennis Prodigy, Sidelined by an Operation’s High Cost

Sloane and Madison aren't giving a care about a girl they literally have shared a court with.

Re: US Open R1: Osaka df Kerber 63 61

I wonder if karma is coming back for Angie. Really did seem like she overachieved last year with the fluke slams. Not as much as Clijsters but similar.

Re: www US Open R1: Jabeur vs Minor

Ons won the lottery of all draws in the tournament. Minor might win points/games from errors by Jabeur. But would be surprised to see the upset here.

Re: USO R1: Ying Ying Duan aka BFCD def. junior #1 Claire Liu (USA/Q) 7-6(8) 7-6(3)

Funny to hear people's comments who haven't seen claire play before this match.
Bad matchup, as usually claire is more aggressive than this.

However, someone does have a point with these young...

Re: CiCi Bellis gets Maserati sponsorship !

Sour grapes for sure. I don't think everyone else has the same options that Cici and Claire do.

Re: USO Q2R: Fangzhou LIU Crushes "Should Have Received MDWC" Kristie AHN 63 75

I would have given the WC to Caroline Dolehide or Claire Liu over Ahn.

Re: What is the flukiest loss suffered by Venus or Serena

Serena: Razzano
Close second is Stosur at US Open finals. Never seen her play that badly ever, and never played that badly since.

Re: ARTICLE: Claire Liu, a Rising Teenage Tennis Player, Reaches a Crossroad

Some people are really pushing the college tennis agenda.
But in reality, it's not the same, good preparation, that these players need if they want to become a successful pro. Of course there are...

Re: Should WTA organize YEC for juniors just like ATP?

Hard enough for the WTA to market their own players.
They do a half @ss job with everything else.

Re: ARTICLE: Claire Liu, a Rising Teenage Tennis Player, Reaches a Crossroad

It pretty much is. The level of college tennis, especially for female players is not particularly that good.

Re: ARTICLE: Claire Liu, a Rising Teenage Tennis Player, Reaches a Crossroad

Claire would be stupid to go the college route.
Obviously it can be done, but you really do miss out on a lot of development potential at this stage, especially for her.
Had CiCi gone to Stanford...

Re: Melanie Oudin announces she has retired

Everyone's so shocked she's only 25.
But she was 17 when she got to that US Open QF.

Became TF's #1 Villain before Wozniacki came along to her slamslass #1 days.
Don't think anyone in tennis...

Melanie Oudin announces she has retired (25 years old)

I guess TF got their wish
Best of luck in the future Mel! Poor girl, never caught a break after her run.
Now retires as #2 most hated player ever in TF history.

Re: MD WC for Sharapova for US OPEN

I would be extremely upset if I was Dolehide, who trains at that National Tennis Center with the USTA. Pretty decent year and probably the next in line to receive that WC had they not given it to...

Re: MD WC for Sharapova for US OPEN

Brienne Minor would have to be one of the worst players to be in a main draw of a slam in a long long time. Most random NCAA winner ever, and nowhere near ITF level. Doesn't really want to pursue a...

Re: Stanford QF : Bellis def Kvitova 6-2 6-0

Cici is one of the most mystifying players on the tour.
She doesn't seem like she'd be a world beater, but consistently she's been proving everyone wrong.
Determination from her is far different...

Re: Stanford R1: Dolehide d. Osaka 64 62

Caroline Dolehide is under the radar in terms of all the talent that young US age group has. Forehand and Serve look good.

Re: Venus Williams Involved In Fatal Car Crash

Watching the video and reading the reports, it's more than clear that Venus shouldn't be at fault.
The couple in the incident unfortunately was more than likely going very fast, and could not stop...

Re: Who will be a better player: Bellis or Vondrousova?

Too early to tell.
Very easy to say Vondrousova, but who actually thought Bellis would be doing this well? When she debuted I doubt many thought she was going to be top 100.

Re: Should the Doubles finals be played before the singles finals at Slams?

The only thing about doubles, is that it seems that much older and out of shape players make a living as a professional "athlete" in tennis.

Re: Junior Wimbledon F: (3) Claire Liu def. Ann Li 6-2 5-7 6-2

Claire's game reminds me of Grace Min.
Ann Li looks like she has a lot of potential, I wonder if she will reconsider going to college tennis.

Re: Venus Williams Involved In Fatal Car Crash

Clearly just about everyone knew this was the story.
People making crazy ass twists out of their butts to make V look bad.

Re: TMZ: Venus Williams Blamed In Fatal Car Crash

So she went into the intersection while it was a green light, but then the cars in front of her were stopped so she stopped.
But the people in the other car went anyways and crashed into her car...
