Re: Petra may have reached her maximum already - I see stamina and age issues behind

She just don't give two craps at this point. She barely trains or competes, and we're somehow expected to believe her when she says how much she's looking forward to playing?

If tennis has become...

Re: Montreal R3: [10] Maddie Keys def. [6] Venus Williams 6-1 6-7(2) 6-3

What a terrible match

Venus serving like Camille Pin throughout, and still wasn't enough to dissuade Keys from having another random-ass lapse. Keys has obviously improved quite steadily in...

Re: Johanna Konta: I’ve had to dig deep and find where my happiness comes from

I find Konta so strange. All her platitudes about the psychology of the game and this constant focus on her emotional well-being on court makes me nervous that she might fall apart if she ever begins...

Re: WWW? Montreal QF: [9] Kuznetsova vs [5] Halep

Kuznetsova has been playing well recently, and her gritty physicality matches up decently with Halep. I go with her.

Re: ITF Lexington Qualifiers: Alison Bai def Laura Robson 6-7 6-3-6-4

I mean Robson is only 22 but.... she was off the tour so long, and it seems like it's had a irreparable effect on her game.

I'm not really sure how anyone as unathletic as Robson can compete in...

Re: Stanford Court Speed

Wimbledon has gotten slower ever since 2002 or thereabouts. However it was noticeably even slower in 2013 and has been pretty much been a slow hardcourt since.

Re: Stanford Court Speed

Money? Trying to homogenise the court surfaces to cater to the Asian swing? The reasons could well be as cynical as that

Some outdoor hard courts as mentioned (Sydney), are relatively fast...

Re: Stanford F: (3) Konta def. (1) V. Williams 7-5 5-7 6-2 for 1st career title

All of this. Venus's groundgame/power still isn't outdated and although her movement has greatly diminished relative to her prime, she's still one of the few great athletes on tour.

Venus is...

Re: Montreal FQR: M.Linette(POL)-S.Lisicki(GER) 7:5 6:2

If only we knew how dead her career would be after that Wimbledon final... She's an expert in finding new lows.

Re: Washington DC Final: (7) Yanina Wickmayer def. Lauren Davis 6-4 6-2

Gradual resurgence for Wickmayer, especially after all that hype and controversy that surrounded her when she first started getting noticed on tour in '09/early '10.

Her brand of tennis is always...

Re: Will Serena stay #1 during the UO Series 2016?

Serena not giving a fuck about tour events this year might bite her in the ass.

Re: Stanford Court Speed

It's a welcome novelty, especially when you consider the sandpits from hell in the IW/Miami swing.

It's simply depressing how slow the courts are these days. Even the USO (which used to be...

Re: Stanford F: (3) Konta def. (1) V. Williams 7-5 5-7 6-2 for 1st career title

Up until that choke-job at 4-1, a really good performance from Konta. When you look at her robotic technique it doesn't exactly look tailor-made for fast courts, but she takes the ball incredibly...

Re: Serenas biggest troublers en route to her 22 GS

Soft-ass draw though...

Serena's USO '02 is pretty much as dominant as it gets. She was simply unplayable that fortnight.

Re: Washington D.C. R1: Ozaki humiliates (2) Stephens 6-2 6-1

Stephen's results continue to mystify.... Perhaps she thinks she's too hipster for a conventional career?

Re: Nicole Vaidisova retires again

Expected. Let's be honest, her elite career was over after 2008 and despite some encouraging early results in her comeback, she was never going to get back to her former level without a massive...

Re: Favorite 2016 Wimbledon match?

Cibulkova-Radwanska featured great rallies, endlessly swinging momentum but somehow I found it utterly exhausting to watch.

The match I enjoyed the most strangely, was Muguruza-Giorgi. Power...

Re: BREAKING - Azarenka pregnant!

Another marquee name bites the dust. Women's tennis has long been living on the reputation of Serena competing for history, and may well have to hope this lasts because post-Serena looks like an...
