Re: Will Caro eclipse the other athletes in NY Marathon?

Like many other posters, I thought this was a bad idea. But the endeavour seems to have re-energised her. As long as she doesn't pick up any injuries, I'll be happy.

A link to her donation...

Re: Will Caro eclipse the other athletes in NY Marathon?

UK Eurosport2 is showing it, nor sure if other versions of ES are showing it too. It should pop up on the usual streaming sites.

Re: Sofia SF: Petkovic def. Muguruza 6:1 6:4

It was such a shame to see Garbine losing so badly after a great run to SF, but I'm soooo happy to see Andrea smiling and in form again.

Re: Sofia RR: Garbine Muguruza def. Alize Cornet 6-3 7-5

Yw. I'd love to have Garbine asked in the presser, "So, your opponent takes to the court in a witches' hat. Did you feel that she might not be fully focused on the match?"

Re: Sofia RR: Garbine Muguruza def. Alize Cornet 6-3 7-5

Blinkers on? Alizé came on strong early in set 2 (Garbs hit a good few imprecise shots:lol:). But, Garbs well worth the win. She's come into this week with the right attitude.

Re: WWW XWTA Limoges BM 160 (Main Draw INSIDE) ???

Alizé will still be #20 come Monday, even if Muguruza wins Sofia.

Re: Sofia RR: (4) Petkovic def. (2) Cibulkova 7-5, 6-3

An epic two days for Andrea. First skipper Barbs puts full confidence in her, then she peels off two straight-set wins to nip into the semis.:worship:

Re: WWW: Fed Cup Final: Czech R. - Germany

Soooo, it's been 57:6 to the Czechs since? At the rate things are going for Germany, Petra could sit the tie out and Czech R would still win.

Re: TOC Sofia RR: Pennetta d. Cornet 6-1 6-2

It's not often these days that I watch Alizé play and think, "She's got no chance today", but today was one of those days. Flavia making the most of that WC tho!

Re: FRG: Who should play second singles match in Fed-Cup-final?

I would think that Barbs is giving Andrea the time/space to come to her own decision on playing. Petko does seem to be the emotional heartbeat of Team Germany, but given her distressed state in Linx...

Re: Luxembourg R1: Alizé Cornet (FRA) def. Lucie Hradecka (CZE) 6-2 7-6

If Alizé & Monica meet in quarters, I'll watch it from behind the sofa! I'm still traumatised by their last two matches. As for Andrea, she'd need to find a bit of form for Fed Cup, elsewise Barbara...

Re: Luxembourg R1: Alizé Cornet (FRA) def. Lucie Hradecka (CZE) 6-2 7-6

With no rest day, seeing as it's a Saturday final. If not Alizé, then perhaps Andrea?

Luxembourg R1: Alizé Cornet (FRA) def. Lucie Hradecka (CZE) 6-2 7-6

Alizé being Alizé, it got a bit fraught near the end, but she made it into R2.

Lucie, hurry back into Top 100 plz, you're fun to watch.:)

Re: What if Alize had won vs Stosur yesterday...

Alizé has plenty of fans from before her 2014 exploits versus Serena. Sure, there's been plenty of baiting of Serena fans by posters tickled pink by the 2014 H2H, but most of that isn't from Alizé...

Re: What if Alize had won vs Stosur yesterday...

Well, Alizé wasn't good enough to defeat Sam yesterday, so the argument is moot. SF for Sam!

Hmmm, can't argue with a 4 & 2 loss. Good luck in QF Sam.:)

Re: Live Commentary Thread vol68

Oh dear, switch from jazz to a funeral march (or something more upbeat for Stosur supporters)!

Re: Live Commentary Thread vol68

Deafening silence, because...

A; He/she has delivered his/her 'wisdom' on Serena 'tanking' (hope not, Lucie/Rena could be a good match)

or

B; Sam is in the box seat atm.

I'll go with B....
