Re: Is Doi the unluckiest player at Slams (ever)?

Yep. All those 3 set matches. I had hoped she'd turn the corner with those this year after her first title.

Re: 25K Guaruja R2: (4)Montserrat Gonzalez def. (WC)Patty Schnyder 76(5) 64

Is this a cheering thread for Patty in GM? If so, despite the loss, well done to her for coming back. Happy for you Lefandepatty!

:awww: If not, I'd like to write well done Montse :yeah:

Re: Barbara Rittner: Gloating about the crash from Bouchard 2015

English is my first language :haha: fail. Chinese? First time in my life i've been called that
Now if you want to get technical, the title says "crash" from Bouchard, which doesn't make sense?...

Re: Barbara Rittner: Gloating about the crash from Bouchard 2015

Two pages reading this thread and still have absolutely no idea what she supposedly said :o :o Right.
No idea what the thread title means either.

A typical scoreline for Misaki.

Re: AO 1R: WC XINYUN Han Makes Maiden GS 2R d DUQUE 62 21 ret

Hopefully Mariana's ok. She should have won this match easily, so I guess she was quite ill or injured.

Re: Hobart R2: (7) Cornet d. (L) Cepede Royg 6-4 5-7 6-2

This was Vero's 5th match in a row, after a 2+ hour battle tonight with Cornet. She was mentally tired by that stage of the match, that was the turning point. I'm sure she'll grow from this.

Re: Final AO WC goes to #383 Storm Sanders over 18yo Naomi Osaka

Grand Slam of "Asia-Pacific" 1 WC to count for that.

Then the other WCs- A French and an American, as if they don't have slams already.

They should just call it the Grand Slam of...

Re: Hobart R2: (7) Cornet d. (L) Cepede Royg 6-4 5-7 6-2

What? No. Cornet led 2-0 but that was the only lead she had. Vero led 5-4

Re: Hobart R2 (7) Alize Cornet def (LL) Veronica Cepede Royg 6-4 5-7 6-2

World no.43 vs world no.143, 2 hours 53 minutes :sobbing: So proud of Vero. No wonder the crowd was rooting for her even till the end. It was still a good match for her and i'm sure she'll build on...

Hobart Q1: Cepede Royg destroys (2)Jovanovski 6-0 6-0

Paraguayan slaying :cheer: First double bagel of 2016? 42 mins.
Hopefully this is the year Vero breaks through.

Bojo won 6 pts first set :oh: And just 11 in the second. Was she ok?

Re: Brisbane QF: Suarez Navarro def. Lepchenko 4-6 6-4 7-5

Best of the year? :spit: It was entertaining certainly, but not great quality. Lepchenko had it at 6-4 4-3* 40-15 with CSN looking resigned but she went and missed routine shots and never looked like...

Re: Auckland R2 DRAMA: (Q) Naomi Broady Saved 2mps df. Jelena Ostapenko 4-6 7-6(4) 7-

Incomparable. Clijsters didn't see any DQ offence. She didn't hear what Serena said. Broady saw the ball boy hit. Think about it.

Re: Auckland R2 DRAMA: (Q) Naomi Broady Saved 2mps df. Jelena Ostapenko 4-6 7-6(4) 7-

Very, very few DQ's have resulted in a serious injury of an official. No one here is in fear of the ball boy's health. It doesn't matter if he was struck hard or not. Did you hear of any serious...

Re: Auckland R2 DRAMA: (Q) Naomi Broady Saved 2mps df. Jelena Ostapenko 4-6 7-6(4) 7-

What about Serena vs. Shino  The umpire didn't hear what she said to Shino. But he defaulted Serena anyway?

Re: Auckland R2 DRAMA: (Q) Naomi Broady Saved 2mps df. Jelena Ostapenko 4-6 7-6(4) 7-

Indeed, I can't think of a single occasion in tennis when a DQ came about from a direct targeting of someone (other than Rodionova). But these Ostapenko stans seem to think that's the only way to be...
