Re: Who is the next women's star? As of now, it's anybody's guess

The WTA, USTA, and Tennis Channel is desperately trying to market Nicole Gibbs.
Problem is she keeps losing, and is actually quite the biotch off camera.

Re: Miami R2: [Q] Taylor Townsend d. [25] Roberta Vinci 6-3 6-2

Just a year ago Taylor was playing 69 year olds at 25K qualifying events.
Huge step up right now.
Still don't like her new game, but any win is a good win.

Re: Miami R2: Kirsten Flipkens def. (29) Ana Konjuh 7-6(4) 6-7(8) 6-2

Embarrassing to see so many players lose to someone not at 100% and not even moving but just chopping slices back.

Good for Kirsten though.

Re: Miami:1R: Taylor Townsend def (W) Amanda Anisimova: 2/6 6/2 6/3

Bellis, Day, Liu, Anisimova, etc are a new wave of very good, flashy US players. There's another younger group right behind them as well with Osuigwe, Grauff, etc. Will be interesting to see how they...

Re: IW R4: [14] Elena Vesnina def. [2] Angie Kerber 6-3 6-3

Kerber pulling that Djokovic card this year and playing FAR below their levels in the years past.

With Serena hilariously letting Kerber get the grief of most people by letting her be #1 by not...

Re: How would Henin and Clijsters rank if they make a sudden comeback?

I think people here honestly believe they can come back and win majors still.

Re: IW R3: Williams def Safarova 6-4 6-2

Horrible match, literally both players had zero rallies and the crowd never got into it.
Good win for Venus though.

Re: Indian Wells R3: (9) Madison Keys def. Naomi Osaka: 6-1, 6-4

Madison was playing maybe 40% in the first and 10% in the second. Everything very casual she had zero pressure. Osaka couldn't outhit her.

Re: Indian Wells 3R: [2] Kerber survives Parmentier 75 36 75

I'm starting to wonder if Angie ever has a pretty match.
2017 has had some messy ones

Re: $25k Curitiba F: MOTY Anastasia Potapova beats Amanda Anisimova 6-7[7] 7-5 6-2

These two are such good players if people haven't seen them yet.

Re: Acapulco R1: (Q) Townsend def. (Q) Brady 7-5 7-6(4)

Taylor lost to McHale. But wow I do not understand her schedule at all of picking and choosing certain events.

Re: $25k Curitiba R1: (Q)Amanda Anisimova def. Bosio 6-4, 6-1

Saw her matches at the US Open great player. Apparently a much better clay court player though. Her, Cici Bellis, and Kayla Day will most like be the fresh faces of American Tennis.

Re: Acapulco: Ajla Tomljanović wins first match after 13 months def. (6) Bouchard 7-6

Tomljanovic looks Ivanovic skinny right now.
But wow great win for her considering her serve was a big weapon and now she doesn't have it but still managed to win.

Re: Bouchard Loses Super Bowl Bet to Twitter Follower

I'm almost expecting it.
It's kind of odd that someone that good looking would happen to be Bouchard's date out of everyone

Re: ITF Surprise 25k R2: (Q)Dolehide def. (8) Kenin 63 75

I've seen Kenin play before, but didn't strike me as a pusher. I thought Dolehide was more of a pusher than Kenin lol

Re: Fed Cup: WG 1:QF: CoCo Vandeweghe leads Team USA past Germany d Petkovic: 3/6 6/4

gamesmanship or not Petkovic plays in the WTA tour.
She should know how handle these situations by now. It's a prerequisite nowadays.

Re: USTA plays banned German national anthem in USA - GER Fed Cup Tie

Was it the USTA or the Hawaiin club hosts that made the mistake?
