Re: For equal pay, women must play best of five (article)

They have it all wrong. I hate to be severe on the women, but only if you get equal spectator interest and turnout, then you should get equal pay. Even playimg five set matches may not get the WTA...

Re: Is Cibulkova good looking??

There is a reason the five foot two-ish, 110 lb smiley blonde continues to be the epitome of the American cheerleader type and every teenage boy's wet dream. If you are not American maybe you don't...

Re: Could you give me an example of the WTA's marketing?

"what are little girls made of"? Pure WTA marketing. Likely with specific girls spots chosen for specific parts of the world.

Re: Cliff Drysdale is Bigoted.

I don't know about bigoted...but certainly too infatuated with Maria Sharapova.

I am just so glad I have Direct TV and can get other commentators instead of that frat pack at ESPN.

Re: Which youngster will have a more stellar 2014?

:hi5: This.

I am also curious to Victoria Duval's success. She has a lot going for her.

Of the ones on the poll, Sloane has the most upside. If she can maintain her position it is a success....

Re: What Does It Say: 31 Year Old v 32 Year Old To Face Off In XWTA Showcase Event FI

Apparently, not much to Tennis Channel, as they have shown live WTA all week long only to tape delay this final match to show the hobbling Grandpa Federer live.:cuckoo::confused::rolleyes:

Re: Empty stands on WTA - it's sad

Even at Miami and Indian Wells, once the guys left the court, most of the seats emptied out. Even for the so-called no. 1 WTA player and for Maria Sharapova.

Re: Who is going to win Roland Garros?

With the current weak state of the WTA, if the Woz doesn't win this GS, she'll never win a slam. Actually, I think the winner will not come from the list above.

Re: Navratilova is really clueless about Kim

I always hear people refer to her as the best at turning defense to offense. Which means she can do both, and do both very well, to be the player people widely consider to be the best in women's...

Re: Kim Clijsters just OWNED Todd Woodbridge

100,000 ESPN viewers who didn't have/watch the Direct TV live feed of center court when it happened, looking to see what they bleeped.

Only Kim could get away with this and still come off...

Re: What is with the Dislike for Caro??

It is her PR folks who are 'pushing' her on us. Stella McCartney for Adidas dumped Maria Kirilenko for her because they believe she can win. Now she has to prove herself for the sponsors, or she...

Re: Stanford Q3: (1) Kai-Chen Chang d. Mashona Washington 64 60

I saw her qually against Pandzic. She is aggressive for an Asian player...taller than most with long limbs. She has a big serve and hits hits hits, missed the baseline by centimeters on her UEs. ...

Re: Retrospective: Wimbledon Winners Ball

2002 and 2010 are my favorites! Both times the pic showed the winners with the most genuine happiest of smiles. Knowing what we know now, of course, 1992 is very sweet too. Agassi looks like a kid...

Re: Wimbledon F: King/Shvedova def. Vesnina/Zvonareva 7-6(6) 6-2

Elena also had to withstand Vera's racquet abuse barrage, getting hit herself! :tape: She was wiping Vera's tears away with Vera's head towel. Poor Elena, so classy and so strong. She must...

Re: Wimbledon R16:Comeback queen Kim bts Comback Queen JuJu 2-6,6-2,6-3

This is fantastic news! I was so apprehensive about this matchup because Kim's head used to always get in the way of her tennis against Justine at the majors. I thought Clisterrors would show up,...

Re: Wimbledon R4:Who will win,Kim or JuJu?

I will be rooting for Kim. But I think Justin will win in 2 sets, unfortunately. I only saw bits of Kim's loss to Azarenka at Eastbourne and Justin's win against Petkovic. Justin's form is better....

Re: Francesca Schiavone's grunt

It really does sound like "F**&^% Me!"

The first I ever saw her play was live about 5 or 6 rows back on the baseline. My friend and I looked at each otherwith the same thought. "Did she really...

Re: Am I the only one who dislikes Justine's backhand?

I liked Amelie's backhand better, looks more pleasing but not as effective. Henin does look like she his having a seizure when she hits it, though most of the time it is effective.

The only...

Re: Justine ALLEZed her way to defeat,,,

No, both points Sam lost in that game to go down 0-30 were definitely UEs. She slammed a crosscourt forehand into the net, that got an Allez! from Henin, who hadn't been using it for previous...

Re: Henin's Allez @ 6-2 1-6 4-3* 0-30

Oh, yeah. I remember the commentators saying something about it when she allezed during the match against Kim. I guess karma is finally coming back to bite Justine now.
