Re: WWW- Wimbledon R1: [4] SHARAPOVA vs [WC] KONTA

Jana Cepelova is currently ranked 102, so perhaps Serena should not fear her too much.
As to Martha retiring, not sure which Martha:
Martha Matoula? Too young.
Martha Garzon-Elkins? She has...

Re: WWW- Wimbledon R1: [4] SHARAPOVA vs [WC] KONTA

It is the list of the players to whom Masha already lost this year (I even specified the corresponding tournaments) and the stage at which they might possibly meet again.

Re: WWW- Wimbledon R1: [4] SHARAPOVA vs [WC] KONTA

Why? Is there something wrong with the last line:
R7: Kuznetsova (Madrid 2015), Kerber (Stuttgart 2015)
I don't think so.

Re: WWW- Wimbledon R1: [4] SHARAPOVA vs [WC] KONTA

If Masha survives Konta, here are the plyers to whom she lost this year she is facing next:

R3: Gavrilova (Miami 2015)
R4: Pennetta (Indian Wells 2015)
R5: Safarova (RG 2015)
R6: Serena...

Re: Madrid QF: Sharapova decimates Clayniacki 61 36 63

Karolina Vozhniatska (I think this spelling would help British commentators to pronounce her name at least recognizably) is like a wall and Maria needs a good balance of patience and aggressiveness...

Re: 2014 RG FINAL: Maria Sharapova def. Simona Halep 64 67(5) 64

Well, Serena was not good enough even to reach the 3rd round this year. So pretty worn out, I guess.
Comparing the champion to early losers is pointless, and such a head-to-head is misleading:...

Re: 2014 RG FINAL: Maria Sharapova def. Simona Halep 64 67(5) 64

I was watching live the English language version. So you know what you get - always a good-natured commentary.

Later I watched the match again with Polish commentator Karol Stopa. I don't like...

Re: 2014 RG FINAL: Maria Sharapova def. Simona Halep 64 67(5) 64

I have recorded the match with English, Polish and Russian commentary. As I was watching it in English, I guess I will watch it two more times:)
The least I can do. Perhaps during the men's final?...

Re: 2014 RG FINAL: Maria Sharapova def. Simona Halep 64 67(5) 64

Yes, I can't understand those DFs.
Simona did not hit a single return winner on a second server, did she?
No reason whatsoever to gift all those points.

Re: 2014 RG FINAL: Maria Sharapova def. Simona Halep 64 67(5) 64

I am Maria's fan, but Simona just said she loves me. So I am now confused. Maria probably does not love me....

Re: 2014 RG FINAL: Maria Sharapova def. Simona Halep 64 67(5) 64

I was drinking lots of brandy (a heart medicine) during the match. No way I would have survived the match otherwise.
Somehow crawled to the computer :)

Re: Hantuchova-Kerber, most horrible call ever?

That terrible 2004 USO overrule during the Capriati-Serena match resulted in hawk-eye. Perhaps this terrible call will result in allowing replays?

And both Capriati and Kerber pretended to be...

Re: Miami absolutely shocking TV coverage

I have done some live cursing at tennistv.com support. Not their fault, but still I feel a bit better now. They will not even show it later as "catch up" !!!

Re: Miami absolutely shocking TV coverage

Sharapova - Nara?

It is as if that match was canceled?

Not on BT Sport 2
Not on tennistv.com - I am paying more than 100 euros for it, I want my money back!
Not on bet365

Which one of...

Re: Rome: Errani bt Sharapova w/o

Not exactly first. I remember Masha had to withdraw from Philadelphia years ago, in 2004.

It was like this:

She got her career-defining shoulder injury back in 2004 in Zurich, during the final...

Re: Madrid R3: [2] Maria Sharapova def. Sabine Lisicki 6-2 7-5

Ye, you are right. My mistake was that I removed blue clay wins - but they were before the loss and therefore do not count already.

Re: Madrid R3: [2] Maria Sharapova def. Sabine Lisicki 6-2 7-5

Thank you so much, but I think it is 20 matches on red clay, not 23.
Where you got those 3 additional matches?
You cannot discard the loss on blue clay but still count wins.
You need to add 4 wins...

Re: Madrid R3: [2] Maria Sharapova def. Sabine Lisicki 6-2 7-5

So Masha now has a 20 match winning streak on RED clay?
Blue clay from last year's Madrid does not count in that case.

Re: AO SF: Azarenka def. Stephens 6-1, 6-4

Maybe this will force the change of the rules.
You should be able to take MTO only before your own serve, not to disrupt the oponent's serve.
Or it should cost you some points, maybe 30:0.

Re: Li Na def Maria Sharapova 6-2 6-2

Not just to deuce. In the 2nd set particularly, Masha had unconverted gamepoints and breakpoints in all the games she lost except two, and the last one does not count, because she could have won 6:1...
