Re: Doha QF - MATCH OF THE YEAR: (3) PEAK Radwańska def. (9) Peak Vinci 3-6, 6-2, 6-3

As for me the fact this wasn’t played at a grand slam makes it even more extraordinary achievement.

Re: Doha QF - MATCH OF THE YEAR: (3) PEAK Radwańska def. (9) Peak Vinci 3-6, 6-2, 6-3

Well, while arguing with her coach she also said “troia”…

Noithing to add. The pure essence of why I watch women’s tennis.

Re: Average age of WTA's top 10/20/30/40/50 (ATM).

I don’t think this is an indication that the “sport is maturing”. It points in an entirely different direction, namely that women’s tennis became incredibly physical which I regret very much. The...

Re: Why did Kerber win a slam before Radwanska and Wozniacki?

Of course, and this is clearly if implicitly stated in my post. If Serena is not sufficiently focused, which happens practically only when she plays the players of “lesser stature” who never beat her...

Re: Why did Kerber win a slam before Radwanska and Wozniacki?

Nothing you had written in your long post contradicts anything I said, in fact it further corroborates it. Let me reiterate: I consider beating Azarenka and then Serena in the Final an immense...

Re: Why did Kerber win a slam before Radwanska and Wozniacki?

I am very happy for Kerber. What she has achieved (beating both Azarenka and Serena) is a great achievement. However, when Serena is in her serve-killer mode and your own serve is not similarly...

Re: Angelique Kerber: ''my heart is in Poland, here is my home and family''

Is she actually a “product of the German tennis program”? I am not sure she is. In fact, I am not sure how many unequivocally German tennis players are such “products”. In the old GDR years one could...

Re: Why did Kerber win a slam before Radwanska and Wozniacki?

A good point. And she really doesn’t seem to have the same mental block or a fear that has plagued Radwańska when playing Serena.

Re: Angelique Kerber: ''my heart is in Poland, here is my home and family''

A truly great post. She is a lovely girl and I am very happy for her. She did something very important for a lot of girls out there: if you are very persistent, give everything you have, work...

Re: AO 3R: (4) A. Radwańska def. Puig 6-4, 6-0

Yep! That was fantastic. I can’t recall a better shot interrupted by a horrible call like that.

Re: AO 3R: (4) A. Radwańska def. Puig 6-4, 6-0

She knows very well “where does she really stand”. The YEC happened very recently and gave her enormous amount of confidence. Shenzhen was a confirmation of it. This is actually, the first slam I see...

Re: AO R2 (4) Agnieszka '10 matches winning streak'Radwanska def Eugenie Bouchard 6-4

There were some flashes of brilliance, indeed. For example that point interrupted by a terrible line call was a candidate to be the point of the tournament. There were several entertaining points. As...

Re: AO R2 (4) Agnieszka '10 matches winning streak'Radwanska def Eugenie Bouchard 6-4

It is totally impossible to imagine that Agnieszka could be nervous. She has never been more certain of what she is worth than now. She didn’t play well because she was too relaxed. Apparently didn’t...

Re: The fall cometh: Simona Halep

There is no mistake in thread’s title. Perhaps one needs to have a better command of English to understand that.

Re: Margaret Court says women tennis is boring

There is a huge difference between saying "Women's tennis is a little bit boring" and "Women's tennis is boring", in case some of you haven’t noticed. This is why you should never trust anybody...

Re: Zhuhai: Kind of a Godsend?

By this logic any tournament for seniors with Steffi Graf and Navratilová must be infinitely better than any slam today.

Re: Cake? What Cake? Worrying Marion Bartoli pictures surface.

Twenty pages of this crap instead of taking a note that Marion Bartoli is an intelligent, attractive looking woman who can speak gracefully (something few people can today). I thoroughly enjoyed her...

Re: 2015 YEC F: La Profesora AGAcadabra def. Petra Kvitová 6-2, 4-6, 6-3

“The defensive shots she is playing are spot on. I will say it’s not only the defensive shots — she will make you play a very difficult ball. She makes those slices setting very low and those...

Re: 2015 YEC F: La Profesora AGAcadabra def. Petra Kvitová 6-2, 4-6, 6-3

I would say more important than her “retrieving abilities” may be her unpredictability that disorients many players and breaks their rhythm. If you are not able to “blow her out of the court” by the...
