Does anyone have any info on why Putintseva had withdrawn?

It makes no sense.

After all the things I've read here and there, I think I finally understand the rules. Please someone tell me if I'm wrong.

Re: Olympics Entry List

I know you both said the same thing.
And i said I think you're both wrong.

The "confusion" here happens because Meelis kind of contradicted himself. Or at least he didn't understand my question...

Re: Olympics Entry List

I don't think you both are right here...

The "first in her NOC rule" have 2 spots guaranteed.
Meelis said that if someone withdraws, Pironkova qualifies by her own ranking and not by the...

Re: Olympics Entry List

I have a tricky question.

Actually, next-in after Hibino in the "normal" list is Tsvetana Pironkova (#71)
But Pironkova is already qualified because "first on her NOC list" rule.

So, what...

Re: Race to 2016 Rio Olympics - Complete

Yeah, I know.
That's why I said "assuming the Comission will select the best ranked players". Also the reason I listed all potential candidates.
Thank you for providing all the criteria! ;)

Re: Race to 2016 Rio Olympics - After Nurnberg/Strasbourg

Why the hell has Mariana Duque Mariano withdrawn from Bol???

It doesn't make any sense. She had a real chance at qualifying for the Rio!

Now, SuWei Hsieh only has to reach 2nd Round in...

Re: Race to 2016 Rio Olympics - After Bogota

Just to explain why I've said that:

ITF has six spots. The rules are kind of clear. But they're written in a way that makes it possible to let spots untaken. And (if I'm not wrong) ITF can give...

Re: What's the best solution for WTA's Bogota and/or Rio?

I think it's not that hard!

In the 2017 WTA Calendar, I found:
Week 6 - Fed Cup
Week 7 - Doha
Week 8 - Dubai and Rio

Just put Bogotá in the week before Rio! It seems like a no-brainer!

Re: Race to 2016 Rio Olympics - After Bogota

After all Kiki Bertens have done in Fed Cup since 2014 (13 singles wins / 1 loss) and specially in 2016, it will be a shame if she does not qualify for the Olympics.
ITF better use the Top players...

Re: WTA Players who represented different countries during their career

Re: Caroline WOZNIACKI will be Flagbearer for Denmark, OLYMPICS 2016

The irony is she's not even eligible yet.
She still has to play Europe Group 2 this year to match the criteria.

And I'm not sure about this Pennetta's retirement...
Also, doubles is most...

Re: As of right now who would make the U. S. Olympic team?

No. It's a total of six players. Max of 4 singles.

In 2012 London, USA was Serena, Venus, McHale and Lepchenko PLUS Lisa Raymond and Liezel Huber.
