Re: JJ: I can win this tournament

She could do it.
Serena has been very vulnerable in slams this year and I don't think Jankovic would be afraid of meeting her there. Jankovic has a great record against Serena, too.
Another factor...

Re: Will Wozniacki go down as the worst number 1 ever?

It seems odd to think there could ever be a worst number 1 player. Aren't they all supposed to be the best?

Re: Stacy Rogers Cup Interview:"Genie Worth Weight In Gold,World's Most Popular Playe

I don't see what it means to say she is the most popular player. Other players are popular too. Shouldn't they all receive promotion? Why just focus it all on one player? Why does it have to be so...

Re: America’s favorite athletes

Serena Williams belongs up at the top. About time she got the credit she deserves at home.

Re: Serena at practice in Croatia

It is going to be a good US Open Series for Serena. She looks fit, motivated, and I fear for her opponents just how hungry she will be going the last 3 slams without a trophy.

Re: Davenport: Why wasn't she considered marketable?

I think it was more the WTA did not know how to market her. She was, in fact, the antithesis to Kournikova who was coming up the same time as Lindsay.

Not every one was pulled in by the titleless...

Re: Early prediction: Who will win 2014 US Open?

Azarenka. She did not play that badly in Wimbledon. Is a two time finalist. Has a great hardcourt record. Will be fresh. Most of the other contenders are a mess.

Kvitova is so focused. 6 points in a row.

Re: Why is Bouchard so hated?

I agree there are lots of positive things about her. And I like it when fans see it for themselves. I think the hate comes from the WTA and tennis tournaments and the media hyping her so much. Like...

Re: Why is Bouchard so hated?

I think it would be ok, the whole wta shoving her down our throats because she is blonde and 'pretty', if she had won a slam first, or even made a slam final.

Now she is finally in a final at...

Re: Who are your rooting for? Halep or Bouchard

Halep. She has more variety and is very sweet.

Re: The Official Schedule Discussion Thread

Lol. It would be interesting to sit down with the schedulers and see how much they actually know about tennis.

Re: Venus Williams : "The courts are very slow"

I think some people are missing the point. Yes some people prefer watching longer rallies, but they have medium slow hard courts and clay for that. Grass was great for people who preferred faster...

Re: Venus Williams : "The courts are very slow"

I was shocked how high the ball was bouncing yesterday. Made me sad.

Re: Stuttgart FINAL: Maria Sharapova def. Ana Ivanovic 36 64 61

Great first two sets. Third one was NID.
Ivanovic had her chances in the first part of the second. And I think she hit to the forehand a couple of times on big points which was unwise as Maria hit...

Re: WWW Stuttgart Finals: Sharapova vs. Ivanovic

Ana has beaten Lisicki, Georges, Kuznetsova and Jankovic. I think she will win this considering her form.

Re: Doha R1: A.Pavlyuchenkova def. T. PushMajeric 5-7 6-2 6-3

Good for Ana. If she can fight her way through this draw to the later stages it will consolidate her Paris run. Then a break before the North American spring hardcourt season. I think she could do...

Re: The YEC should be considered a fifth major

It would need a 128 player draw and a 2 week schedule.
I personally would love to see an Indoor Major in late October with a proper lead in of Premier tournaments, a Premier 5 in there.

Re: Justine Henin - what a wasted carreer

She did well considering her mentality. Let's not forget this is a woman who cheated in a Major semi-final, threw in the towel in a Major final when things were not going her way and quit when she...

Re: ALLEGEDLY - Petko to WTA re: Mariana Alves: "Why do you keep picking her?"

Fact is any umpire in Alves' position, with the amount of matches she umpires and years on the tour, is going to make mistakes. But I would like to see them get penalised when they really screw up....

Re: Caroline Wozniacki fires Thomas Hogstedt, new coach Michael Mortensen post #117

Good move I say if it the holiday thing is true.
Caro is still young. Plenty of time to find a coach she matches up well with.
The exciting thing about La Woz is she is young, experienced and can...

Re: Who should have won a GS title?

I pick Safina. That 2009 RG was hers and I am still gutted she did get it, as much as I admire Sveta's game. I would have loved to see Safina's hard work pay off with a slam. But I get the feeling...
