Re: US Open Wild Cards announced

Does this mean that the wildcard exchange is off for the Australian Open? Bleak times for Australian tennis.

Re: Live Commentary Thread vol 83

My stream is really inconsistent, and I'd be deeply indebted to anyone who can provide a good link.

In the mean time, go Garbine!! Really hoping she can turn this around.

May I have a wildcard to the Australian Open, please. I'd also like to commit for Paris, if possible.

Re: USO R3: Forehand GOATJankovic def 2nd Serve GOAT Nara 6-4 7-6 (5)

Nara definitely won a fan in this match! Sorry not to see her push to 3 sets. I'm definitely hoping to see a lot more of her. A little erratic, but great, fearless shots.

Re: Sloane Stephens ' Little kids goes home first week' Aka Nadia,Marion,Petra,Sam,

Man, candor sure is an unforgivable sin in some quarters. We're lucky to have such a fresh, effervescent player on the tour. Haters to the left, keep on keeping on, Sloane.

Re: Is Shvedova over-rated?

I think Slava's intriguing because although it's unlikely that she'll attain a Slam or the top 10, she certainly seems to have the goods to do so, which most players outside of the top 10 don't....

Re: Best Match of the Year (So Far...)

I thought Azarenka d. Barthel in Stuttgart was phenomenal, in spite of Mona's anticlimactic ending. Mona was playing out of her mind for a bit.

Re: Why don't the younger kids and generation try to copy Serena's service motion??

Look, obviously the top men are physically stronger than the top women, but the idea that there would be nothing to learn from Serena's service motion is ridiculous. She had the most aces of any man...

Re: The fattening of the WTA?

Here, look at this article about Serena's six pack from the Australian Open this year. If she can be that fit and still be obese in anyone's mind, they're straight up delusional.

Re: Birmingham R2: Zheng "Superflower" Jie def. Anne Keothavong : 6-3 6-4

Wait, why on earth did Jie compete in qualifying here? That seems unfair to the other girls.

Re: McHale now top young player in ranking

I'd be willing to bet that she breaks through within the next 6 months or so. She consistently beats or takes sets of off top 10 players and is a good counter puncher with a notable forehand. I'd bet...

Re: Poll: WTA v. ATP Deep Field v. Boring Field, Shameful Headcases v. Golden Age

This is pretty much what I'm getting at with the 3rd option. I prefer having a good pool of potential winners (e.g. Maria, Serena, Vika, Petra, Sam, NaNa) with some good dark horses (Errani, Kerber,...
