Re: Serenas biggest troublers en route to her 22 GS

Soft-ass draw though...

Serena's USO '02 is pretty much as dominant as it gets. She was simply unplayable that fortnight.

Re: Washington D.C. R1: Ozaki humiliates (2) Stephens 6-2 6-1

Stephen's results continue to mystify.... Perhaps she thinks she's too hipster for a conventional career?

Re: Nicole Vaidisova retires again

Expected. Let's be honest, her elite career was over after 2008 and despite some encouraging early results in her comeback, she was never going to get back to her former level without a massive...

Re: Favorite 2016 Wimbledon match?

Cibulkova-Radwanska featured great rallies, endlessly swinging momentum but somehow I found it utterly exhausting to watch.

The match I enjoyed the most strangely, was Muguruza-Giorgi. Power...

Re: BREAKING - Azarenka pregnant!

Another marquee name bites the dust. Women's tennis has long been living on the reputation of Serena competing for history, and may well have to hope this lasts because post-Serena looks like an...

Jankovic's career has been long since over, but this is

Re: 2016 Wimbledon F: Serena df Kerber 75 63

There have been better finals than this...

It was just very NID for me, and once Serena started raising her level it was even more so. There were some excellent rallies, but the last 5-10 minutes...

Re: Does Serena have several more in her?

She's physically still able, and that hoodoo that inhibited her the past few Slams has been broken, so she's still in contention for several more Slams if her motivation remains.

There's still no...

Re: 2016 Wimbledon F: Serena df Kerber 75 63

NID win for Serena, her play picked up significantly from the second round onwards, and by the time she got to the final she was always going to be too solid for Kerber.

Served impeccably on the...

Re: Wimbledon SF : Kerber routines Venus 6-4 6-4

Agree with this. Venus looked dead on her feet throughout, and her somewhat overkill schedule inevitably contributed to this match.

Venus's serve was completely absent, and her fatalistic approach...

Re: Serena: she gonna win a slam this year or not ?

Maybe, but it's not just her competitiveness that seems to have waned, but her actual level of play. Haven't seen much this year that makes me think Serena can easily turn her season around.

She...

Re: Exactly what did Halep do to be so disliked on here?

So? Does it make the Halep cockroach brigade any less crazy, delusional or annoying?

At least the Serena maniacs can back up their crazy with stuff their fave has actually achieved.

Re: Exactly what did Halep do to be so disliked on here?

It didn't help that after RG '14, about 125 'lifelong' fans of hers suddenly crept out of the woodwork, offering constant disdain and 'stats' for anyone who dare question the majesty of 'Queen...

In terms of pure speed?

Venus

Dementieva
Capriati

In terms of how their movement is applied (footwork, defense etc);

Clijsters

Re: Billie Jean King: Serena's loss is 'changing of the guard'

It's always bad when gays can't use their own slang properly

BJK is probably right. Serena's dominance won't last forever, and Muguruza could well be someone who can regularly challenge and...

Re: WWW RG R4 : Venus Williams or Timea Bacszinsky

On anything other than clay, Venus would expose that forehand completely. But the conditions have been miserable, and even Cornet was able to negate some of Venus's weaponry on this sludgy sand-pit. ...

Re: RG R3: Venus WILLIAMS defeats Alize Cornet 7-6(5), 1-6, 6-0

Ironic really. When Venus was much younger, she had all the speed and athletic endurance needed for clay, but had very limited patience and understanding of how to pace herself on clay.

The...
