Re: Who can seriously stop Williams sisters when Kim retires in 2012?

I am speechless at the state of the tour right now. No top 100 players under the age of 19. NONE!

Re: Is Sam the favourite for the French now?

Yeah, WTF? TS can pretend Kim hates clay if it will help them sleep at night.

Re: If Clijsters wins on Saturday - who's greater: Davenport vs Clijsters

Kim has a lot of success ahead of her. Tennis seems to have "lost generations" where the players coming up don't seem to be able to reach the level of their predecessors, like in the first half of...

Re: Who's the real Queen of Australian Open?

Royalty often is. And LOL at Serena leading the poll.

Re: True #1 of 2000 : Hingis, Davenport or Venus Williams

2000 is over. Seriously is current tennis so bad that we resort to this? Year by year "who is the real #1".

Re: Hingis confirms that Serena is the best ever.

This. People are idiots about stuff like this. Serena could have given Martina a sexy little dress for her birthday, Martina would then say "I love you Serena, you're the best ever!"
Board is then...

Re: With Olympics on the Line, Williams Sisters Prove Above the Rules

What? You mean the best players in the world aren't automatically eligible to play in the Olympics? But what about all the people around here who say the Olympic Gold is supposedly the be all end all?

Re: Who is greater? Martina Hingis, Justine Henin or Venus Williams?

Venus did have an era. Won 4 Slams out of 6, not genuinely much different than Martina's 4 out of 5. I would argue that even Lindsay Davenport's 3 out of 6 constitutes a "era" unless you want to make...

Re: Who is greater? Martina Hingis, Justine Henin or Venus Williams?

The three are pretty close but I would give it to Venus.

Re: Belgian tennis player suspects Henin in doping

These comments remind me of BJ Penn. That is not a compliment.

Re: Dementieva: Hall of Fame or not?

Yeah. Ana Ivanovic, former world #1 who won Roland Garros. Heard of her?

Re: Dementieva: Hall of Fame or not?

I think what it comes down to, how many of her contemporaries are more worthy? Williams, Williams, Henin, Hingis, Davenport, Clijsters, Capriati, Sharapova, Kuznetsova, Mauresmo, Ivanovic. Maybe...

Re: How many Grand Slams would Monica Seles have won if she didn\'t get stabbed?

LOL. 3 per year in her teens and you think with an uninterrupted career she would have had 2 more total in the remainder of her time at 19 plus all of her 20's. I really hate to have to ask you about...

Re: Who is the better player Clijsters or Capriati

Yeah, too bad the BEST player in the world did not "bother". Then I would be a little more impressed.

Re: Who is the better player Clijsters or Capriati

That is because you are an idiot. Some players don't even bother with the Olympics, and there is a reason for that. Especially in 1992.
Tour Championships>Miami>Olympics.

At least now we know who Claycourter actually is.

Re: Monica Seles 1989-1993

If she had done it at her best event when she was 25 and the 2 time defending champion, it would have been a disastrous showing. When it happens at age 16, and is the last time she fails to make the...

Re: Monica Seles 1989-1993

While Steffi may have amassed more ranking points, Monica was CLEARLY the best player on tour from March forward. She had one minor stumble at the US Open but otherwise was cleaning up.

Re: Oct. 25, 2010: Mirjana Lucic re-enters the top 100!

Great news. She's never going to be a Slam winner at this point in her career, but she's certainly taken control of her life and shown everyone that awful man can't destroy her.
