Re: Ajla Tomljanovic to represent Australia

She has no connection to Australia and it's obvious she is just doing this to get benefits that Tennis Australia can provide. She could also become a US citizen to get benefits and it would make more...

Re: It's only end of January, and Na already makes more than 2.4mils USD.

Does she still need to give most of her prizemoney back to the CTA?

Re: "I can’t emphasize this enough: Genie Bouchard is a jock."

In the context of the article, I took jock to mean that she is sporty and also not very girly (not like for example, Hantuchova, who no one would call a jock). I get the description, as Bouchard does...

Re: Heat Rule to come into action on RLA after Sharapova match

It should be ok for them to recommence play now, its been below 40 degrees for the last hour or so!

Re: Heat Rule to come into action on RLA after Sharapova match

It's fair to make the players finish the set, otherwise will disrupt the rhythm of the match. Before, they used to make players finish the match before they implemented the heat rule.

Re: Heat Rule to come into action on RLA after Sharapova match

If they are going to apply the heat rule I think they should at least be consistent with it, otherwise its not fair to players who played the last 2 days in the same heat. I know its also about...

Re: Heat Rule to come into action on RLA after Sharapova match

Not sure why they are doing this today, when it was as hot the previous two days.

Re: Should Top 100 players just get 1r prize money four times a year?

No, but maybe the rule should be that a player needs to complete the match, or at least a set, before they get their prize money.

Re: Heatwave Conditions for Melbourne

I'm fully aware that its the wet bulb temperature. What I meant was "How hot does the actual temperature have to be in order to send the wet bulb temperature over the limit which is necessary for the...

Re: Heatwave Conditions for Melbourne

Feels just like a stinking hot 40 degree day

Not much wind now, pretty unbearable to stand in the sun for even a few minutes!

Re: Heatwave Conditions for Melbourne

They are starting new matches now and its 41 degrees. What does it need to reach before they suspend matches?

Re: Heatwave Conditions for Melbourne

I certainly wouldn't want to be playing in 40C+ heat, whether it's dry or humid! Its great to have a few hot days anyway, to test the fitness of players, as many of them train for these conditions.

Re: Heatwave Conditions for Melbourne

I once was mad enough to sit through a men's 5 set match lasting over 4 hours in 41 degree heat, sitting in the sun on MCA. Don't think I'll ever do that again though!

They do stop new matches...

Re: WWW Australian Open R1: [4] Li vs [QF] Konjuh

Konjuh is impressive, hits hard and us in great form from what I've seen. It's too bad these two drew each other. If Li is off her game Ana can win.

Re: Sloane Stephens disses Serena in new ESPN Magazine Article

So what if Venus and Serena didn't sign her poster when she was 12, lots of other kids miss out on autographs and aren't complaining about it 10 years later

Also, big deal if she...

Re: Pova def. Australia's Jr. Boys Champ!!

He was actually behind for most of the match, and was down 5-2 in the 2nd set, and is 7 years younger than his opponent, so no, I cant see how he "should have won". He did very well to make it that...

Re: AO Q3: Michelle Larcher de Brito def. Chanel Simmonds 4-6,6-1,8-6

I saw this match, Michelle was her usual self, screaming like a banshee and crying and throwing tantrums when things weren't going her way.

Her game hasnt improved at all, she was lucky she played...

Re: Pova def. Australia's Jr. Boys Champ!!

The top female players practice with males all the time, so it wouldn't have been any different from Maria's point of view to any other practice. I doubt she really would have been trying that hard,...

Re: Hindrance at AO2013

Interesting that you say Falconi looked big, that's exactly what I thought about Chan, she really looked like she gained a lot of weight from when I last saw her. Still good enough to thrash these...

Re: AO Q2:Duan d. Woerle 67(5) 63 63

I was at this match, Duan is so huge, she could be a basketball player. What an amazon! She hits the ball so hard off both sides, really impressive. She was definitely the hardest hitting girl I saw...

I just got back from that match, it is sooo hot out there, 38C right now. I don't know how they played such an epic match in the heat!

Re: Out of the top 8, who has the worst draw?

It's out of Kvitova and Sharapova. Kvitova's first two opponents are tougher, but Sharapova's potential 3rd and 4th rounds are tougher than Kvitova's. Considering their respective forms, Kvitova is...

Re: AO Q1: Wang Qiang def. (2)Monica Puig : 4-6 6-3 7-5

Wang played really well in the 3rd set, she deserved the win.

Re: Sydney QF: [4] Li Na def. [Q] Madison Key 4-6 7-6(2) 6-2

Very impressive from Keys, she has improved so much in the last year.

I was so relieved Na was able to keep fighting and get through. Na didn't really play that badly, she was just under a lot of...

Re: Sydney R2: Madison Keys d. Jie Zheng 6-0, 6-4

I didn't see this match but I saw Madison play Zheng one year ago at the AO. She had a big game but was not consistent enough and Zheng beat her down something like 6-2 6-1.

To be able to reverse...
