Re: Would you move to a tax haven if you were a top player?

It's not. There is absolutely nothing to do there.

Re: YEC RR: Muguruza/Suarez Navarro d Garcia/Srebotnik 75 62

I watched the second set and I thought Kata was the weakest player on court. I think she only held serve once in their first match as well, although that's not always the server's fault...

Re: WTA chief Steve Simon claims fundamental calendar changes

If I'm honest, one of my scheduling bug-bears is the fact Indian Wells and Miami consumes an entire month of the calendar. Nothing much ever happens in the first week of those tournaments and the...

Re: WTA Finals Singapore RR: (8) Hlavackova/Hradecka def. (4) Babos/Mladenovic 6-2 6-

I thought they were quite bad in Linz as well but maybe they were shackled by the pressure of trying to qualify for the YEC?

It hasn't been a particularly good year for them (they were a few...

Re: Luxembourg Final: Barthel/Siegemund def. Medina Garrigues/Parra Santonja 62 76(2)

Didn't ALG play deuce side with Goerges?

But if I were Siegemund, playing doubles with Barthel on a semi-permanent basis next year might not be a bad idea. She could at least put herself in...

Re: Queen Volleyer?

Strycova has a fantastic half-volley. Really pissed YouTube removed my Wozniacki vs. Strycova HLs from Wimbledon as Bara produced some amazing finesse shots in that match.

But Black and Raymond...

Re: 2000 WTA Calendar

Apart from Tashkent being staged in between Roland Garros and Wimbledon. :p It should have been staged towards the end of the year with Pattaya City and Kuala Lumpur, surely.

I didn't know...

Re: Lux R2: Siegemund def Flipkens 7-6, 6-1

Does Siegemund usually attack the net so often or was she just adapting her game for the quick surface? Regardless, I really enjoyed watching her. You can definitely tell why she's had quite a lot of...

Re: Lisa Raymond retires from professional tennis

It feels like the end of an era with Stubbs, Huber, Black and Raymond all retired. The last couple of seasons haven't been great but I've still enjoyed watching her play; she could still do...

Re: Stanford R1: Tomljanovic def. Diatchenko 3-6 6-0 6-0

I wonder how many flights Vitalia had to take to get from Baku to Stanford.

Steph. :yeah: I do quite like it when a hardworking veteran beats a hyped up-and-comer.

Re: Bucharest F Kalashnikova/Schuurs d. Mitu/Tig 6-2 6-2

She was pretty much a full-time doubles specialist as a junior. :p

Out of interest, has anyone seen her play before? Does she have a game which might translate to singles?

Re: Mestachs ball bounce

I saw some of that match and I can't say I picked up on Mestach's ball bouncing. I'm sure Rodionova would have piped up had she been doing it incessantly. On the other hand, Cicak was in the...

Re: New Sexy Lexy Article : Alexandra Stevenson on tennis comeback trail at 34

Going from advising Keys to coaching Stevenson would be a bit of a downgrade, no? :p

Re: 50K Stockton R1 - An-Sophie Mestach [1] def. Alexandra Stevenson [WC] - 6-3, 7-6

Mestach was unbearable to watch with her monotonous ball bouncing routine. I counted at least 27 bounces on one occasion. And she's a vulture as well.

Re: Courtney Nguyen to stop writing for SI, start working full time at the WTA

I'm actually rather surprised by this career move given the recent discussion on the NCR Podcast about how Grand Slam tournaments are covered. She basically said what the Grand Slams generate from an...

Re: Wimbledon R3 (Q) Olga 'DarkHorse' Govortsova def Magdalena Rybarikova 7-6(4) 6-3

Govortsova's ball-striking.

Rybarikova was tepid at best, though. Great chance to make the fourth round but she didn't seem to play with any self-belief.

Re: Wimby R1 Barthel/Kichenok d. Rodionovas 6-3 3-6 6-3

It was R2. :p

Anastasia pretty much lost the match for them on the penultimate point. A lob from their opponents landed plum on the baseline and instead of playing on, Nastya aborted the rally and...
