WWW: Angie,Flavia,Marion,Sam VS Caro, JJ, Elena, Dinara?

I know that the slamless greats vs one-slam wonders is a big topic of debate here, but what if there was a FedCup like format between the last four players to win only one slam (so far) and the four...

Re: Is Courtney Nguyen one of the least knowledgeable tennis writers ever?

I actually thought about adding tennis writing to my journalism career, but it seems like a difficult gig to get, especially as I'm not willing to "start at the bottom." It's hard work, and I...

Re: The average age of next week's top 10 is only 21, thx to the 5 Russians in the to

I'm not sure you understood what I was trying to say.

Petra was 21 in 2011, which was when she reached her first slam final. I don't think Petra did anything of note when she was a teenager....

Re: The average age of next week's top 10 is only 21, thx to the 5 Russians in the to

We are expecting these girls to peak later in their careers. Most of players mentioned above were teens when they reached their first final. Last time we had a teen finalist was what? Woz in 09?

Re: The Evolution of Madison Keys

I like Madison, but after seeing her play for a couple of seasons, I'm just not sure it's going to happen for her. She needs to control her game better. That's why I liked her partnership with...

Re: Why did Kerber win a slam before Radwanska and Wozniacki?

 Yeah, Serena really gifted this slam to Kerber. She just didn't really want it that much.

Re: Which of Angie Kerber's marathon matches is the most entertaining?

That's going to happen against a player like Kerber, who really doesn't give up. Someone of her retrieving in that match were mind-boggling. And Maria can be incredibly impatient at times.

Re: Which of Angie Kerber's marathon matches is the most entertaining?

That is really one of women's tennis' most insane TBs in recent memory.

I hope these two will play each other more and more. Because even that Australian Open two-setter was magnificent.

Which of Angie Kerber's marathon matches is the most entertaining?

Because it's Fed Cup weekend, I rewatched highlights from the Kvitova x Kerber match from 2014, which led to me watching a few more of her Angie's most thrilling matches. Thus, this poll.

2012...

Re: Fedcup WG 1st round Angelique Kerber def Timea Bacsinszky 6-1 6-3 (GER 1-1 SUI)

She plays BB tomorrow, right? That'll be a good indicator how much she's really feeling herself. Slam success can do a lot for a player. It can give you the confidence to take your career to the next...

Re: Kerber has made 2016 exciting!

 This version who loses to Stosur? To a Kim Clijsters who just had a baby? Or this version who loses to Cornet, Muguruza and Vinci? I guess they can beat her, but not Justine Henin or Jennifer...

Re: Kerber has made 2016 exciting!

 Matches like the final prove it's not a weak era? Oh, god. A strong era will not be measured by matches but by careers.

Re: Was Women's final more entertaining than men's?

You're so annoying. All the things you say have absolutely nothing to do with tennis.

Serena's done an excellent job of keeping herself mostly healthy, engaged and motivated. In a sport like a...

Re: Aus Open Final: (7) Angie Kerber SHOCKS (1) Serena Williams 6-4 3-6 6-4

I hope that last season's success and her win here in Melbourne will convince her that she can be more than just a dynamic retriever — that she has the game, which, when executed confidently, can...

Re: Rate Serena's AO 2016 Finals Performance

The worst part of her game at this final, to me, was that she didn't adapt to Angie's game. How many of those short balls are you going to hit to her forehand as you approach the net? Serena's net...

Re: Who Is Greater: Kerber or A. Radwanska?

Aga has been in the top for much longer than Angie has been, which has allowed Aga more winning moments; I don't think Angie would trade careers with Aga, because there's nothing like winning a slam....

OMG!!!! I'm so thrilled for her!

Last year after her inspired Stuttgart run, I decided to avidly support Angie. (I've not fully supported anyone since Justine retired.) I really appreciated her...

I'm so happy for Angie. She reached GS success for the first time at 24. It's hard to imagine that she would eventually get to this point, but I'm really proud of her...

Re: Who will have a greater 2016?

Again, name one who is currently and clearly better than Djokovic on clay. You can't, because there is no one.

You can't compare those numbers. Novak won his first slam 9 years after Serena won...

Re: 17 girls inside the world top 21 have contested at least one GS F

Actually pretty impressive. If only these girls were more consistently relevant with slam-winning performances, we'd have a real tussle in the WTA.

Re: Who will have a greater 2016?

He is the best on all surface. Failing to win RG these last two years doesn't change that. He's 30-3 on clay in 2014 and 2015. Can you actually pick out one player out there who at the moment is...
