Re: Who will be able to defend her slam title in 2013?

So now anyone who defended a title is 70% likely to do it. Sharapova has NEVER defended a slam title anywhere. That isnt to say she couldnt and might not do it, but 70% chance hell no, not on...

Re: Who will be able to defend her slam title in 2013?

That is quite the joke. This is Sharapova, not Henin on clay.

Re: Who was more of a fluke/Who was better?: Ana Ivanovic or Anastasia Myskina?

It seems alot of people know very little about the history of womens tennis. There are a huge list of 1 slam winners. Gabriela Sabatini, Jana Novotna, and Conchita Martinez are by far the best...

Re: Peak Pierce in 1994 Roland Garros

Me too, would have loved to see Conchita win a French, and sucks that Sanchez vulture could ever have 3 French Opens, no way she deserves that many.

Re: Peak on Grass: Sharapova VS Novotna VS Davenport VS Hingis?

Surprised Davenport is leading Novotna on this poll. Davenport would never be leading a prime Graf in a Wimbledon final deep into a 3rd set like Jana was doing in the 1993 final. Novotna in her...

Re: Peak on Grass: Sharapova VS Novotna VS Davenport VS Hingis?

Mauresmo was in really bad form at that event, she nearly went out to some Santengelo girl in the 3rd round, was down 3-0 in the 3rd set, then was fed a bagel by Serena Williams who was in her career...

Re: Will Venus Williams ever win a singles title at a Major again?

Lastly comparing Venus to Seles it isnt clear Seles has achieved more. Seles has only 2 more singles slams, and dozens less doubles slams. To those who value a combination of singles and...

Re: Which world #5 is the best player at her peak? Hantuchova, Chakvetadze or Kerber?

Chakvatedze in her best year ever (2007) was probably the 8th best player in the World behind Henin, Serena, Sharapova, Venus, Kuznetsova, Ivanovic, and Jankovic, regardless of her ranking of #6...

Re: Peak on Grass: Sharapova VS Novotna VS Davenport VS Hingis?

Novotna is easily the best of those. Sharapova, lol, what a joke, she isnt even that good a grass courter, in 2004 she played only one good match in the final to win it. Davenport is good but...

Re: Will Venus Williams ever win a singles title at a Major again?

Venus had alot more competition in her peak years of 2000-2003 than Seles from 1990-1993, another reason she won less, along with that she tended to specialize on faster courts in an era that the WTA...

Re: Will Venus Williams ever win a singles title at a Major again?

Simply put Venus in the summers of 2000 and 2001 played at a higher level on both grass and had courts than any women in history other than Serena has. Many experts at the time said exactly that...

Re: Want Some Real Comedy? Look How Low Tennis Channel Has Serena Ranked

Hingis most definitely is above Goolagong. Hingis won 5 real slams. Goolagong won 3 real slams and 4 Australian Opens which was a fraudelent non slam back then. Had the Australian Open been a...

Re: Who will be able to defend her slam title in 2013?

It is pretty much a foregone conclusion Serena will break Navratilovas Wimbledon singles record in 2017.

Re: Your Favorite Sharapova-Serena 'battle'.

I would pick the 2012 Olympic final as it was a match both players played at their best, and we saw how they compare peak to peak.

Re: Will Venus Williams ever win a singles title at a Major again?

Goolagong had a nice game but didnt have anywhere near the power, groundstrokes, serving ability (even for her own time), or overall natural instictive will to crush and win and physical imposing...

Re: Will Venus Williams ever win a singles title at a Major again?

I wish she would win atleast 3 more. Truly one of the biggest underachievers in tennis history, should have won double digit slams. She has less slams than less talented players like Seles (9...

Re: PEAK on CLAY: Ivanovic vs Kuzzy vs Jankovic vs Safina

Kuznetsova and Ivanovic both could be argued. When Ana was at her peak she was even beating Kuznetsova in big matches on hard courts (when Kuznetsova was also roughly at her peak), so the idea...

Re: Who will be able to defend her slam title in 2013?

I am surprised Azarenka at the Australian doesnt have more votes. Yeah there is the Serena factor, but outside Serena there isnt even a single player who has a chance against her there. ...

Re: BOMBSHELL: Maria Sharapova def. Serena Williams

Good for her. I doubt she will be doing it on the tennis court anytime soon, or ever again perhaps.

Re: Peak Pierce in 1994 Roland Garros

Other than an out of form Graf, no difficult opponents until the final. McNeil sucks on clay, and Coetzer in 94 was a nobody.

Re: Who will be able to defend her slam title in 2013?

Serena at Wimbledon for sure. Second best chance would be Azarenkat at the Australian, if Serena somehow messes up it is hers for sure. Serena at the U.S Open is 3rd most likely. Maria at...
