Re: Today's performance by Maria was the best performance of the year

It had a lot to do with her forehand which, I'll give it to her, hadn't looked as good as this on a hardcourt in a looooong time. But some of her claycourt matches like the Stuttgart final and the...

Re: 2012 RACE TO ISTANBUL YEC (After Tokyo) - all 8 players qualified, field complete

It's a great line-up really. Errani was indeed a top player this year but a big-gun like Stosur or an inspired fighter like Wozniacki (even though she's worthless nowadays) would've made the group...

Re: WWW Beijing SF: Na Li vs Maria Sharapova?

True. She was bossing Sharapova around and that was one of the marquee forthnights in Maria's career. Li Na's game can be breathtaking at times but it's so high risk that it becomes very tough for...

Re: Linz might once again get screwed...

Azarenka is wise in playing a proper indoor event prior to the YEC. Not sure if she'll be fully committed all the way, but she'll surely show up if not only to get a couple of indoor matches under...

Re: Beijing QF [2] Maria Sharapova d. Angelique Kerber 6-0 3-0 ret.

I think everyone's overreacting, fans, haters and commentators.

Re: WWW Beijing SF: Azarenka vs. Bartoli

Azarenka will win this one easily. Her previous two losses to Bartoli were tanks, each in its own way. Bartoli is the kind of ballbasher Azarenka loves routineing.

I'm pretty we'll have the 4th...

Re: Today's performance by Maria was the best performance of the year

Still believe Serena's play at the Olympics final surpasses that easily. Untouchable doesn't begin to describe it.

Also, concerning Sharapova, I still believe the tennis she produced in the...

Re: WWW Beijing SF: Na Li vs Maria Sharapova?

He does, but not only is Li Na a completely different player from Henin (minus the serve :oh:), Carlos was never really able to get Justine to dismantle Sharapova's game. That's why their matches...

Re: 2012 RACE TO ISTANBUL YEC (After Tokyo) - all 8 players qualified, field complete

Well in all fairness 4/5 of these players were already virtually locks for the YEC in May.

Re: Beijing QF [2] Maria Sharapova d. Angelique Kerber 6-0 3-0 ret.

Kerber was playing pretty well too, so the retirement was truly bizarre and unwarranted.

Re: Beijing QF: Bartoli def. Suarez-Navarro 6-0 2-6 6-4

Mess. Suarez Navarro is easily the biggest choker in the top 30. She should've closed out Radwanska at the USO and should've converted the BP for 4-0 in the 3rd here (even though she would've surely...

Re: YEC qualifiers record against each other

Li will probably become Sharapova's bitch again. At one point that H2H was 5-0 IIRC

Re: Matches where players retired to prevent beatdowns?

That one was really obvious, had totes forgotten about it.

Re: Predict the YEC Groupings!

True, but some match-ups with that draw will be just :tape: Kerber-Errani and Azarenka-Radwanska are two of the most embarrassing mixes out there (for different reasons obviously).

Re: Predict the YEC Groupings!

I hate that. Pushers on one side and GOATs on the other? Hopefully they'll be mixed up.

Re: Beijing 1/4 final: Li Na and Her notes beat Aga Radwanska 6-4 6-2

Li Na's serve looks like Justine's :spit: well done. She's a joy to watch when on. I still believe she has some moments of brilliance ahead of her next year, especially during the Sidney-AO swing....

Re: Predict the YEC Groupings!

Won't Azarenka and Sharapova be in the same group by default of their #1 and #2 rankings? That way they cannot meet before the final.

Re: WWW Beijing SF: Na Li vs Maria Sharapova?

Hopefully it won't be a shitfest but I wouldn't hold my breath. Sharapova should take it in 2.

Re: 2012 RACE TO ISTANBUL YEC (After Tokyo) - 7 players qualified, 1 spot left for gr

Congratulations Li Na. I do think Stosur deserved it more, if not only due to slam results, but Li did more at non-slam events and that has been duly rewarded.

Re: Beijing 1/4 final: Li Na and Her notes beat Aga Radwanska 6-4 6-2

Have to say other than some lurkers like Suarez Navarro and Oprandi this has been a great tournament. Certainly better than Madrid and surprisingly not as depressing as Tokyo (easily the worst...

Re: Beijing QF [2] Maria Sharapova d. Angelique Kerber 6-0 3-0 ret.

Sick play from Sharapova. Good to see her pull off this kind of tennis off clay. Hardcourts will always be Sharapova's best surface; let's not forget if it weren't for Azarenka, the hardcourt GOAT,...
