Re: AO F: Santina def. Hlavackova/Hradecka 76(1) 63

They are headed for the Fed Cup this week. Maybe Hingis will skip it if her shoulder is sore.

According to this article Want to enjoy winning run, we will lose at some point: Sania Mirza - Times...

Re: AO XD QF: (1) Mirza/Dodig def. Hingis/Paes 7-6(1) 6-3

This.
People really under-estimate the importance of side in doubles IMO. Havent really heard of 2 players playing from the same side being successful (Hseih / Mirza , Pennetta/Hingis etc)

Re: AO SF: Santina def. Görges/Pliskova 6-1, 6-0

Mirza played wonderfully today both from the baseline and at the net, and Hingis was nice and consistent as usual - great match from them overall :)

I don't see how the absence of much opposition...

Re: Australian Open 2016 R3 Hingis/Mirza Vs Kuznetsova/Vinci

Vinci/Errani were a great team - so far there is *nothing* to suggest that Vinci with any other partner is anywhere close to that level.
Hingis/Mirza handled Vinci / Knapp pretty comfortably on the...

Re: Legend is Number One again...

Assuming they continue playing together, with similar results as last year:

The 11th best result for Hingis/Mirza is 470 points.
The Olympics gold medal gives 685 points, silver gives 470 points....

Re: WWW Australian Open?

Serves them right for splitting up?

Maybe after this they will finally realise that they need to be together?

Re: Sania Mirza-Martina Hingis equal record for most wins in a row since 1994

Re: Sania Mirza-Martina Hingis make new record for most wins in a row since 1994 (29

Please change the title :)
They had already beaten the record for 'most wins in a row since 1994' when they overtook Errani-Vinci's 25.
Now they have beaten the 1994 streak as well.
I don't know...

Re: Ongoing Australian Open doubles entry list (Updated 06/01)

Every time I see such pairings cant help but wonder what went wrong with Errani - Vinci  I still dont know why they split... and now that Pennetta's retired surely they must realise that they...

Re: Off-season Exhibitions

^^ Why?

It did seem strange having a current (albeit doubles only) player play the Legends Singles, but surely the Aces would have checked the rules before making this sub?

Do you know what the...

Re: Off-season Exhibitions

Federer 0-4 in his IPTL matches so far
UAE, which appears to clearly be the most expensive team, has really under-performed this season.

BTW, does anyone know how the service happens in...

Re: Our friendship doesn't revolve around tennis, say Sania Mirza, Ravi Bopanna...

I agree - this certainly is the best bet for India in mixed at Rio.

I just hope they don't make a mess of it and announce Mirza-Paes. Paes may have been a great player once, but his current...

Re: Off-season Exhibitions

Tired players seriously?
11 matches vs 12 matches over 19 days - barely 20-25 mins per set, that too with not all players playing each tie. Fatigue most definitely cannot be a differentiating...

Re: Off-season Exhibitions

Ridiculous. Since the deciding factor is anyway % games won, why should it matter whether a team has played 11 or 12 matches? This rule makes it quite biased towards UAE Royals, who get to eliminate...

Re: IPTL: Lucic/Herbert def. Mladenovic/Nestor 6-2

Yes very impressive.
Mladenovic and Nestor both were totally off though.

Herbert beating Berdych however

Re: Federer/Hingis confirmed for Rio

This is big news! This team, if confirmed, is certainly the favorite, in my opinion.

Bryan / Williams (either one) may have the power but would probably lack the finesse at the net to beat them....

Re: Sania Mirza ‘unacceptable’ demands to include chartered plane, expensive make up

You even been to India? Or is your assumption based on a media-fuelled gross exaggeration of a few isolated incidents?

Oh never mind. If your assumption is that 'hot' females cant...

Re: Why is Martina not doubles #1?

Total points do not count, points from the best 11 tournaments count.

If the best 11 points are the same, no 1 is determined by the tie-break criteria.

The first rule of the tie-break criteria...
