Re: WWW Wimbledon 2013 Slam Title Virgins Final: [23]Sabine Lisicki vs [15]Marion Bar

I think this match is too close to call.

I'm not saying that Sabine doesn't really want it but she'll probably be smiling as she loops a forehand over the baseline.

I sense that Bartoli really...

Re: WWW Wimbledon 2013 Slam Title Virgins Final: [23]Sabine Lisicki vs [15]Marion Bar

Since Serena and Laura Robson lost this is the final I wanted so I don't mind whomever of the two players wins.

I'm going to be so happy but also gutted for the loser.

I think it will be quite...

Re: Wimbledon SF: SABINE LISICKI def. Agnieszka Radwanska 6-4 / 2-6 / 9-7

I do feel sorry for Aga but I'm glad Lisicki won today.

I know it was in no way her fault but Na Li got scre*wed in the quarter final and it wouldn't have felt right if Radwanska had won the...

Re: WWW Wimbledon 4R Kanepi vs Robson

Impossible to call

On form Kanepi would be a clear favourite but who knows what effect the crowd might have?

Can't really see this being on Centre Court though (maybe Court 1).

Serena has...

Re: Chang humiliates England, def. Robson 6-4/3-6/7-6

The title of this thread is an insult to all British and any other fair-minded people.

England is not humiliated by a tennis loss.

I have reported this to the Mods and hope the perpetrator of...

Re: Which match will get the Centre Court spot on Monday?

In the interest of fairness it should be Azarenka vs Ivanovic but when has the Wimbledon Order of Play Committe ever been fair?

Re: Wimbledon final: Kvitova WINS WIMBLEDON, beats Sharapova 6-3 6-4!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ironic that the winner was the player who got bumped from the top 8 to make way for Serena and then got her place back when Kim withdrew. Almost foreordained!

With that strong, swinging lefty...

Re: Just Gutted....

Considering the circumstances I think it was pretty good that both the sisters made the last 16.

Christine Truman a former British player who won the French and was a finalist at both Wimbledon...

Re: Predict Serena's Outrageous Wimbledon Seeding.

Wimbledon is on a hiding to nothing here.

Whether they keep her at her ranking or bump her up there will be howls of protest from one set of fans or another.

They haven't even the option of...

Re: Serena Williams defeats Elena Dementieva 6-7 7-5 8-6

It was the result I wanted but you have to feel so sorry for Elena - she really didn't deserve to lose.

At least Women's Tennis was a winner today.

Re: Who's winning Wimbledon?

Venus' problem will be with lower ranked players in the first few rounds before her game is honed. This has always been her problem.

If she makes the last 16 then she's almost a certainty.

Re: Memphis QF: [4] Anne Keothavong def. [5] Marina Erakovic 62 16 62

All right it may not be much to most of you but at long last we get a Brit into the top 50.

Congrats, Anne. Believe and you can still go higher.

Re: Venus Williams can't win Wimbledon this year

Her problem will be getting through the first few rounds.

If she does that then she she's a sure shot.

Re: USO Final : [4] Serena Williams (USA) Def. [2] Jelena Jankovic (SRB) 6-4 7-5

Over the moon for Serena and great to see her back where she belongs - at #1.

Really entertaining match with both players giving everything and I have to feel a bit sorry for Jelena. Has she ever...

Re: Anyone else really torn as to who they want to win the US Open?

The heart always wants Serena to win but what I am excited about is that as of this moment depending on how the results go any one of these ladies could be #1 when the new rankings come out next...

Re: congrats JJ the new no 1 on August 11

Congrats to JJ.

I along with others have strong opinions as to just how good a #1 she is but the bottom line is that she has fulfilled the current ranking criteria to have reached this position...

Re: Montréal 3R : [7] Dinara Safina (RUS) Def. [9] Patty Schnyder (SUI) 6-2 6-2

I think Dinara is the one to watch for USO.

The fact that she was not chosen by the Russians for the Olympics could very well work to her advantage.

The turnaround between the Olympics and USO...

Re: Maria Out Of The Olympics

I woudl not be at all surprised to see Miss Sharapova play USO.

There is such a short turnaround between the Olympics and USO that any player who does not to the Olympics could be at a big...

Re: No longer a true No. 1 Among the Women

I agree entirely with Mr Perrotta.

Jelena is a great and likeable personality and if she does reach #1 it will be deserved as she will have achieved it under the current ranking system - however...

Re: Is Sue Barker that big of a star in the UK ?

Although she is now more recognised as a TV presenter she was a very good tennis player in her day although she only remained right near the top for a couple of years. You don't make the top 5 unless...
