Re: What is performance-enhancement?

I'm not following this reasoning. This 'unfairness' already exists. Richer players (by virtue of family, ranking, endorsements etc) have more access to personal physios, cooks, trainers, the best...

Re: What is performance-enhancement?

Re: What is performance-enhancement?

It totally does. But "we" still want those afforded opportunity to maximize their natural potential to be elite athletes to rely on their natural gifts. Lots of kids go to tennis academies worldwide,...

Re: What is performance-enhancement?

It's unfair because you get different response levels to a PED based on physiological differences we all have. So theoretically, someone less gifted (say physically and mentally) could benefit more...

Re: What is performance-enhancement?

PEDs are typically not dangerous to ingest, considering most were developed for therapeutic use, so yes they would be 'normal'. That doesn't mean they do not give athletes who use them an unfair...

Re: What is performance-enhancement?

Absolutely yes. Isner's (and Karlovic) height is like a cheat code that has allowed him to reach levels he probably would not have were he shorter (controlling for the rest of his game).

Re: What is performance-enhancement?

No shade at all, but yes, you are right: it is a stupid example. You should think about it again to see why.

Re: Maria Sharapova announces she failed a drug test at the 2016 Australian Open

The ball machine feeding pills into her mouth, Russian doping symbolism on the treadmills, getting run over by the porsche

Re: Justine Makes the HoF for 2016.

Very nice drawing.

Re: BBC deconstructs Sharapova's staged announcement like a BOSS

Re: Players with humble origin

Richard Williams says a lot of things that aren't to be taken literally

It is doubtful that Ruzici won $40,000 in a tournament in the 70s. She won the French in 78 and that would have paid...
