Re: Serena has Withdrawn from the USO Series , Questionable for the USO (Foot Surger

Don't know if this was posted yet, but the whole foot is in a cast, which makes me wonder how this happened in a restaurant. It must've been some crazy party.

Re: Wimbledon SF: Vera Zvonareva overcomes Tsvetana Pironkova, 3-6 6-3 6-2: CONGRATS

I don't get where people are coming from when they say this was a crap match. :weirdo:

I thought it was a pretty entertaining match. The 1st set had Pironkova mixing up the spin, pace, and depth,...

Re: Wimbledon QF: Kvitova def. Kanepi 46 76(8) 86!!!

Poor finisher this Kanepi. But she has really nice strong strokes. Kvitova sounds like a dog barking. Totally deserved win. She held her nerve, and got quite lucky with that 2nd serve! :O

Re: Seriously Kournikova is such a shame for Tennis

She had a couple of tier 1 finals and lost to the elite players. It was maybe later in her career that the thought of playing MM events, to win that elusive 1st title became an option. But it didn't...

Re: What is the definition of a "pusher"

Murray's more of a counterpuncher and a tactician a la Hingis.

Re: Who Will Complete the Mixed Career Slam in 2010?

I didn't know they didn't play AD games anymore. :o :tape: Did they always do that though?

Re: "I had a G moment"

Our commentator said Rick Macci was there too and he was apparently the coach of Coetzer back in the day.

Re: Serena Williams def. Vika Azarenka 4-6 7-6 6-2

Her serve was off. :O :tape: She was under the 50% mark in those first two sets and ended the match at 50%. In the 2nd set, it dipped to about 40%. Credit to her though that she was able to get it in...

Re: AO QF: J. Zheng def. M. Kirilenko 6-1 6-3

Zheng played really a solid baseline game and just got every ball back. Her match with Henin should be good, if she's able to play at this level.
Maria's FH return was :tape: :o She could've turned...

Re: AOR4: Azarenka def Zvonareva 4-6, 6-4, 6-0

Funny on-court interview too. Vika thanked the crowd for trying to imitate her. It's good she took that in stride, instead of distracting her.

Re: BOMBSHELL. AO 3r: [19]Nadia Petrova (RUS) smashes [15]Kim Clijsters (BEL) 60 61

That went by really quick. :o I'd have to agree with Kim that she just didn't feel the ball tonight. You'd expect the normal Clijsters to at least put in decent defensive balls and retrieving. Too...

Re: AO 2R: Gisela Dulko def. (20) Ana Ivanovic 6-7(6) 7-5 6-4!

What happened to Ivanovic since her RG win? Did she get injured or something? I saw the last few games of this match and it didn't look good. She gifted Dulko with 2DFs in that last game, after...

Re: AO 2R: [WC]Justine Henin def. [5]Elena Dementieva 7-5, 7-6(6)

Henin, at times, looked like she never left the game, but Dementieva's assessment is spot on. She was letting Henin dictate play especially with that big forehand of hers.

Re: AO R2: Sexlana Kuznetsova def. Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova 6-2, 6-2

First time I saw Sveta since last year and she seems slimmer. She started slow and then unloaded a couple of nice winners from both wings.

Re: Do you treat The Olympics like a Grand Slam??

GS > Olympics. That'll change over time as more years pass by with tennis included in the competition. 20 years is pretty short versus the existence of the Slams. I guess, for players who are...

Re: The new WTA rules next year

I think the Masters Series on the ATP is a good model to use. Pull-outs are still present, but at least there is more assurance for fans and media that top players will be there. The total mandatory...
